Okay so called up Sky and although I was offered a cheaper package earlier today, they say they cannot honour it and have offered me a higher price. Seems like i'm stuck and will just have to accept the offer as I need to remain on the Sky+ product. I hate Sky and the non sensical games they play.
Personally I'd cancel and find another supplier. Do you really need Sky?

    I was offered £88, for

    Signature
    Netflix
    Home Phone
    500 Mbps Fibre

Virgin Media offered me £39.99 for more.

My mum has gone into a care home. So I will be taking over the bills.  If I was to cancel, maybe I could see what they offer.

Do you have proof of the cheaper price ?
If so -  why are you not taking it further ?
    CEO or similar...

Sky do that all the time saying they can't guarantee if you don't take the offer now and you call again later you will have to take whatever the price is or call back and chance your luck.

Saying that you could get a better price than before.

Pointless going to the CEO just wasting your time. move on
  • I ditched sky and have not regretted it.  Saving a fortune!  Can stream, and have a choice to cancel on a monthly basis i.e. Apple, Disney, Netflix.  Can sign up to Now if need to watch sky.
  • I would be most grateful if you would give me your thoughts please on whether you think I should negotiate with Sky on a better deal for TV and BB package or separate them with different suppliers. I have procrastinated long enough and am paying way too much.  Sky signature £40.50 & Superfast BB £46 = £86.50. I have a Sky Q box and am happy with that for its recording feature and we only tend to watch the main channels and occasionally Discovery and Nat Geo. Netflix would be nice it its a good deal. Virgin media for a similar package would come in at £39 for this year and £43 for next year on a 2 year contract, less than half I am currently paying. Once gain thanks in advance for any thoughts on what you might do in my situation.

Sky will claim that having both will open up new deals but Sky say a lot that is never true. They'll thank you for your loyalty and then offer a couple of quid off as their best offer. The only way you'll get a decent deal is to cancel the TV and either wait for a better offer on both or cancel the TV and switch with Virgin.

I separated mine at last renewal. Any discount for having both (but I'm not convinced there is any) is easily outweighed by getting cashback/amazon vouchers moving to a new supplier.

What are our options – if we want to be able to view ALL that Sky offers us (Discovery, Sport, Movies etc) are there any channels uniquely available only via Sky ?

Can the whole caboodle be viewed via Prime ?

Virgin appears to be the only option …..
