Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Called up today, tomorrow being the cut off and the offers for TV were the same as before, however because of the way the Netflix discounts work, if you add Sports and Cinema it drops it to £7.50.
Therefore I bagged this:
Signature
HD
Ultra HD
Netflix Premium
Sky Sports
Sky Cinema
Fibre 150
£81 in total. It was meant to be £88 but the system applied an additional broadband discount to knock it down to £23. The systems at the moment are terrible due to a hybrid of new and old and new Ofcom rules on package names so lots of issues.
£20 admin fee which can not be waived under any circumstances anymore otherwise they get hauled into a meeting.0 -
Nonsense - plenty of examples of fee being waived or credits applied to accounts to "compensate"robrymond said:Called up today, tomorrow being the cut off and the offers for TV were the same as before, however because of the way the Netflix discounts work, if you add Sports and Cinema it drops it to £7.50.

Tried haggling for a while today. Got through to retentions
Sky signature £23.50
Ultimate and Netflix £15.50
Fibre 500 £34
£73
Explained I probably only need fibre 300 but apparently no offers on that conveniently.
If I put my 30 day cancellation in, will the broadband also carry on for that time. Heard that broadband gets cut off quicker?0 -
Sky appears to be a different company to the one it once was. With the reduction in customers numbers over the course of the last few years I suppose they have to make their numbers from a smaller pool of customers.0

You can either ask for it to be switched off on the same date, or it can be left live until taken over by another provider (useful if they can’t connect you before the cut off date). If you’ve got a landline, that’s the best way of retaining your phone number.count2ten said:Tried haggling for a while today. Got through to retentions

If you intend to follow through with the cancellation if you don't get the deal you want, I'd recommend un-cancelling the broadband and just start the transfer for that service elsewhere. It makes it a lot easier just to let the TV cancel when you've already moved your broadband somewhere else.count2ten said:Tried haggling for a while today. Got through to retentions

But if you're going to stay with Sky anyway, and just giving notice to cancel to try to get a better deal, then no harm to keep it as part of the cancellation, but I suspect they know people are less likely to let their broadband cancel...0 -
I didn't let my broadband cancel at all, just haggled at same time. Offers were not great though but ended up with £14 discount overall.0

Yes and they don't appear to want to keep those customers that they still have....butise said:Sky appears to be a different company to the one it once was. If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -
They’ve not kept us, we have had no contact from Sky since putting in our cancellation, not that it matters as we had already decided to leave. Our subscription ends next week and we have our Freesat box all ready to go 👍👍MouldyOldDough said:

It's been the biggest struggle in 10+ years for me personally and this is the first time I've tried to get the admin fee removed and failed.0
