Apparently if you remove Multiscreen you lose Sky Go completely - didn’t realise this was now a thing. Live chat advisor says otherwise - that I have to cancel MS then ring them back to get Sky Go. Will enquire further about that. Ended up ditching Netflix through them (moving to EE so will get it through them instead) ended up with this for £52.50
Signature - £25.50
Multiscreen - £7
Sports - £12
Sports HD - £2
HD - £6
Advisor mentioned holding out for UHD offers through sky vip app otherwise it’s extra £4 on top. Also got told that if I cancel HD I will lose all HD recordings so kept it for now. I've been using live chat/ringing a lot over the last few weeks and it seems it is much more harder to get a deal out of them then in previous years. I could've waited till Friday as thats when offers are refreshed but didn't want to drag the process out further.0 -

Sports £19 ( vs £33)
Sports HD £0 (vs £6)
HD £5 ( vs £9)
Total £50.50 pm for 18 months (plus next April's "usual" increase)
If I had taken Cinema or multiscreen as well ,would have reduced the rest of the package further but I wasn't interested in either.
Looking back thru the last few pages of the thread, they really do make the numbers up !!0 -
@PendeLun You don't need Multiscreen to get Sky Go. I had Sky Go Extra for years with Sky and have never had Multiscreen. Their CS agents come out with all kinds of nonsense to stop you cancelling packages or taking ones you don't need. Anyone with Sky Signature gets Sky Go, it doesn't need setting up either by them. You sign in and it works.0

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/what-is-sky-go-extra
(*) What that page does not state is that you can also get Sky Go Extra for free with (some levels of) Sky VIP
EDIT: According to this thread, the free Sky Go Extra for some VIP levels was removed at the end of last year: https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-Go/Sky-Go-not-working-on-your-console-Xbox-PS4-5-etc/m-p/4311869#M125037. I've just renewed at its still free for me but might be something worth considering for those that cancel. I don't have multiscreen.

Keep getting through to Indian call centre - each of them have a different response re HD and potential loss of Sky Go if Multiscreen is removed. One gave me a supposed £4pm off Signature, next one I spoke to said that isn't on the notes despite me calling back moments later. Such a palaver!!0

My package was about to change from £73 per month to £120 per month so I phoned them last week to re-negotiate and the Indian (??) call centre could only knock it down to £119.50 per month so I got put through to "retentions" and initially they said £97 per month but when I said no to that, he then said that the absolute best he could do was £92 per month so I left it at that.
I have just phoned back and told them that Virgin are doing a virtually identical package (Biggest Combo) at £79 per month and asked if they could match that, otherwise I would be switching to Virgin and within a couple of minutes they came back with £82 per month, which I have happily accepted and they have also agreed to waive the £20 admin fee
That breaks down as £30 for Superfast Broadband 80 and £52 combined for Sky Signature, Sky Cinema, HD, UHD, Sports HD and SkyGo and £0 for Pay As you Talk0 -
Haggling has got a lot harder than previous years, we cancelled a month ago and the offers since we stopped the service haven't been really any better than what we had when we were giving our cancellation.
Spoke to numerous people, some called me sometimes we called, spoke on chat and nothing great.
Wanted to stay on Q but heavily promoting going to stream - Why when I have all the kit and paid out for the mini Q boxes before.
We previously had Q with Sky Sig, Netflix Premium, HD, UHD and Multi room and paid £38 a month
After a month without service today I finally went for the below with my Q set up still:
Sky Sig, Netflix Standard no Ads, HD and Multi-room and paying £45.50 not fantastic
I did get the admin fee waved £10, £40 credit on bill and a free mini Q box (worth £50) so that was the sweetener for me.
Downgraded Netflix and that is where there seems to be one of core reasons for price hikes, seems like little room for maneuver. If we cant cope with Netflix Standard no adds which is £10.50 a month we can upgrade to premium for another £5 - £15.50 a month.
UHD is free for 4 months on the app, so will pop that on, set reminder and take off and repeat as required.
I called them on 0333 7594757 on the back of an email saying come back - Sky Signature for £20
Hope that helps

Definitely a lot harder this year. Had to actually go through with the cancellation so had it all switched off - Q this is. A few days later, got a 'come back' email with Signature for £18 - no other prices mentioned so got in touch with them to see what they could do. Went in via chat.
Wanted to keep the same package as I had before which is Sig, Cinema, Sports, Netflix Premium, UHD, HD, multiroom - everything bar Kids basically. I was originally paying £52.50 for that lot when the 18 months started but then had a price increase to £58 and then another to £65ish.
Initial price offered was no better than the offers they were quoting when in the cancellation period so I was a bit disappointed. Had to really go at it hammer and tong to get anything but after a lot of back and forth, ended up at £59. Obviously, this will go up again next April to something stupid so wasn't 100% happy but it didn't look like I would get much more out of them, especially based on what people have been saying on here. I don't know, maybe I could have got a few quid more? But, I had that figure as acceptable in my mind so bit the bullet.
Netflix does seem to be the big ticket item now. At the next price increase, will probably drop this down a tier or two to compensate. If I had gone for the basic with ads then the package would have been around £49 which then sounds much better value, but Netflix is the thing everyone seems to watch in this house so really needed the 4 device at once option.
I won't go in to price breakdowns as this seems irrelevant as the the prices for each component seem to vary every day - it's the total you need to worry about at the end of the day.
Hope this helps.
