Remember that you will need to get a new LNB installed with Sky Q - Are they offering free install ?
Also NEVER accept an admin fee - they seem to be increasing the amount almost every month!  Got a new deal last December and haggled - they ended up discounting the deal a further £2pm in return for me accepting a reduced admin fee of £10 !!

Like others I have tried to get a deal to stay wish sky and they don’t seem interested. Past 18 mths I have had a decent deal 50% off at £34.50, went up to to £40.50 in April, then would have gone up to £70.50 if I continued post deal. They tried to offer me a £59 deal, then £63 and finally I got their “best offer” of £53 on text chat:
    signature £22
    hd £6
    uhd: £2
    ultimate: £7
    multiscreen: £13
    kids £3

they also tried to offer me the same deal with BT sports for £25 and Ultrafast BB for £17, surprisingly it didn’t make the package offers any cheaper.
I cancelled, thinking BT would save me £10-£20 with their current offer as I am on broadband with them.
Last time I was emailed within days, this time it’s been a week that I haven’t received any emails, nor calls  and the deals in my account are not even as good as above. I think Sky has given up on retention tbh! Still a couple of weeks to go before the BT half price offer runs out so I will see!

BT change owners soon , so would think they will be new offers there

My current contract (18m) is ending mid June. Last time I had to actually cancel to get this deal…

It was meant to be £125 for tv per month. So currently about 45% discount. I had to cancel (3 days without tv) last year before I was offered that. So probably will have to do it again. Am I likely to get a deal this time? I’ve not seen any recent feedback for people with a similar package. But I think people are getting 50% off kind of offers.

I know there is a new customer deal for super fast broadband @ £26 per month so should be able to get deal on what I currently pay there!

Just got off the retention team with SKY after trying to cancel my SKY sub.
Just thought it would be useful for others to know what I was offered and what I did - not that I think I pushed it too much as I was pretty much intent on cancelling so could have probably got a couple of quid more off.

    Sky Signature - £19
HD - £7 + Netflix £7 (these seem to be tied together somewhat)
    Multiscreen - £11
    Total £44.

that was his initial offer, I'm sure a few quid more could have been had if I was close to staying but I carried on to cancel. It's at that point that mentioned SKY essentials for £15 (they only discuss it after you proceed to confirm cancellation) . I agreed to this for a few reasons:

    -no contract.
-if you want to go back up to sky packages then as long as you get through to the retentions team (now called 'loyalty stay' team) then I will still get access to the better deals (bear in mind you have the SKY box already so they can give you the best deals). these deals are as good as new customer ones.
    - carry on using SKY Q box which my wife likes and is used to :) . All Freeview channels still in HD
    - my plan was to switch to Freesat anyway, this is essentially what it turns the SKY Q Box into - and a better version of it - 2TB, voice control etc etc.
    - instant change to Essentials - this is important because you don't have to wait 31 days paying your old rate.
    - Freesat box is about £220 (which I was going to do, which is about 14 months worth of essentials..which means..

...Basically I can see how it goes for a few months and decide later whether I miss the SKY channels or even swap to Freesat/Free view. Losing multiroom was the only downside but then my other TV has freeview built in and all the apps anyway.

Oh, and of course I have IPTV which makes all this so much easier to decide to ditch SKY ;)

Get back on to Sky now, you have just been ripped off...We got the Sky essentials for only £5 a month. I phoned and asked for this price - no arguments.............
I'd heard that the £5deal had gone and was anyway tied to having broadband as well

I’ve seen people post they got it for free or 5 pounds but i agree that could all have changed now i doubt they could honestly expect people to pay 15 pounds for just access to freeview channels when sky signature can be got for as little as 17 pounds for some lucky individuals.

I think it will depend on who you talk to managers have great leeway when it comes to some deals.

My skybox is nearly 8 years old i think I think this will be retired when i do return it or they could do a cheap freeview deal to keep me in their ecosystem.

Not happy with £30 admin fee still not sure I need SkyQ box happy with the internet price though

Looks like swings and roundabouts to me, too much for all of the TV components but an excellent price on Ultrafast (150Mbps ???) It all adds up to pretty much the average at the moment so nothing to worry about.

I'd definitely jump for the Q box, I doubt they'd charge an install fee and it's vastly better than an HD box IMO.

That was a really good deal, you'll struggle to get anywhere near right now I think but good luck with it.

Superfast 35 is currently £25 a month for new customers as they've dropped the next tier up for new customers at least (up to 80Mbps). They now jump to Ultrafast 1 (150Mbps) FTTP/GFast at £30 a month.
  • Latest offer they don’t like getting rid of the admin charge also got to watch them like hawks as at the end they tried to charge me £2 a month more. I said just cancel the installation and while on cancel TV then they came up with the original offer on live chat they had offered me. So down to £50 a month for tv and broadband happy with that. I’m also saving £5 a month changing my Netflix from my BT account.
    No installation costs either.
