I got a call on the run up to Christmas from Sky (win back?)
I cancelled 3 months ago, been away for 2 months and this was the first call I've had from them in 3 months. I've resigned on a 18 month deal @ £37/m after a chat and some live time chat savings (eg on hold then told miraculously that can save another £2) from the advisor. TV ONLY DEAL READS:
Entertainment £13
Box sets £1
Kids £1
Sports Complete £9
Cinema £10
Sports HD £2
HD £1
Was able to discuss and sort out
Q 1TB £0 (recall this being as I'd taken Cinema)
Q installation £0 (was £10, but some deal was available for me)
+ credit on account of £40.
Sky VIP has restatered at Silver 0 years which is the only grumble, but thats gimmicky in reality for my needs.. But I'm back to my old viewing package, got a new Q1 box for free to replace my 10year old Sky+ box and it's about £7-8/m cheaper than my last contract, plus a £40 credit.... was tough to refuse.0 -
I guess your deal is because you actually left. Unlike me who is only 3 months in to Sky Q but expired in Sky Entertainment, HD and Kids. Well I got nowhere again yesterday on the FB messenger. Literally would not budge on the HD and Kids at £5 a pop. Ridiculous to pay £5 for HD but it is what it is.
The only way I was getting any more discount was if i took Sky Fibre and thankfully as my TalkTalk contract ends in February I was able to get that. So now I have everything I mentioned and fibre for £72 a month, criminal really but I am about £4 better off than last month now. I also had to pay the £10 admin fee despite my mentioning that other people had theirs waivered or credit given. I hate it when I see other people succeed in getting this when I can't. Wasn't like I was being rude at all. Just trying to get a decent offer. They wouldn't budge.0 -
Anyone had a discount on the SKYQ multiroom....think it’s £13....0

Where did you agree your deal (looks good, I'd go for that!), on the phone or on 'chat' - where was that?0 -

Sky called me (cold call), I listened to what was on offer, told them no as too expensive. Then the advisor went to entertainment only package, told him no but asked how much if added kids. Then just kept asking him for one more item, and if I take Sports and Movies out what would that be, etc. I agreed deal on the cold call, say 30 minutes after answering. I didnt ask for a credit or free box, this was offered to me during negotiations, and to be fair if this wasn't offered I'd not have taken the deal.
Don't be scared to leave. I can manage without Sky.0 -
How does this deal look? I asked to cancel on the 21st December, last day of service is 21st Jan.
Having spoken to online chat, they have offered:
Sky Entertainment Pack @ £27.00 pm ( £12 off for 18 months contract) = £15.00
Sky HD Pack @ £5.00 pm ( £4 off ) = £1.00
Ultimate on demand @ £12 pm
Q Experience @ £13.00 pm
Total £41 per month
The best deal that retentions offered me on the phone just before I asked to cancel, was £52 per month. Given that, I was expecting bigger discounts from online chat, having read about possible 50% reductions. Is this unrealistic?
Also, is it possible to get 12 month contracts with some haggling?
Thanks,
Luke0 -

Entertainment & HD are good, do you need/want UHD or multiroom?
If not then a standard Netflix subscription is £8.99 and if you want Boxsets then you should be able to get that for £1 a month saving yourself a couple of quid a month. If you don't need UHD or multiroom then that's another £13 off the bill.
50% is pretty much unreachable nowadays unless you go for the full package (sports & cinema included and maybe even broadband) in which case you'll be paying more. Don't focus on the percentage but on what you're actually paying in cold hard cash.
You may be able to get a 12 month contract but you'll pay more.0 -
I'm back for negotiating in a few weeks.
No matter what the current deals/discounts look like I lead with this.
(I am on package with Sports/ Movies/ boxsets/ Kids/ HD etc)
Me paying around 50% of Large package cost equals more income for Sky than 100% of basic package, and definately more than 100% of nothing !!
Never end up negotiating more than a few minutes and never paid over 50%.0 -

I'm a postie and deliver plenty comeback letters from Sky with very attractive deals on the front, 50-60% by the looks of it.0
