They are in a box labelled "mugs" -who in their right mind pays for these things which will never be yours ???

So what exactly are you meant to do if you need the spare mini box???

As ever, check out the last 2 or 3 pages which will show just how much you're paying over what you should and then contact them (any method). To get a decent deal you WILL need to put in a cancellation request. The only way you'll lose your VIP 'status' (it's really not worth much) is if you let your cancellation go through.

You'll save a lot of money regardless of the deal you eventually take.

Top tier VIP status gets a 2tb box and a mini installed for £30 and waiving of Fibre installation charges so depending on individual circumstances can make a big difference .....for some it may "not be worth much" for others it's definitely the opposite !

Thanks for the tip, do you know though if this will defo be offered by all engineers? I can get a free mini box with the Sky VIP but defo need that 2nd mini box I was just about to pay £99. Just worried incase a engineer arrives and wouldn't have any for sale.

If they don't just call in and order it , any phone agent can get you self install at £69 once the first box is active. My self install box arrived in two days so not long to wait.

Haggle hard with Sky - it's possible to get the "install" charge dropped particularly if you are paying the extra £13pm and have a full package inc sports:)

You don't need to be a VIP member to get those though, it's quite possible just by putting in a cancellation.

True although to be fair the 1st mini box is free (albeit an extra £13 per month for multiroom) so the £69 per box (up to 3 additional) doesn't include any extra monthly charges. For someone who keeps them for a number of years it's cheaper than the HD extra boxes which were (I think) £10 each per month?

Ok so I just phoned up and spoke to the Value dept then Retensions.
Spoke to a lovely girl who tolerated my ranting at her about the fact I've been kept on and overcharged for the past 2 yrs on Legacy HD and Variety bundles!
I'm really pretty angry about that tbh.
She just couldn't shift on the Entertainment pack price.
    She offered me:
    Entertainment pack: £20
    Sky Cinema: £9
    Sky HD + £1
    Sky Boxsets: £1
    Multiroom: £13
Total new cost £44 from original bill of £80.50

*update so I just opened a message on Sky interactive about leaving and it's saying get Sky Entertainment for £15 a month for 12 mths but doesn't mention the other packs.
I then got a leaving email telling me to call 03337 594 449 (which is the WIN BACK department) so I did and he agreed to
    Entertainment pack £15
Cinema pack. £11 (couldn't match the prev £9 quoted)
    Sky HD. Pack: £1
    Sky Box sets. £1
    Multi room. £13
Total monthly cost £41 down from £80.50

No admin fee charged. And I'm getting the Sky Q and a mini box for free with £30 installation fee he did mention if I had sports he could do the install for free but I don't want sports.
He confirmed if I wanted to add self install mini boxes later it'd be £69
Phew glad it's all over and thanks so much for all your help and advice.
  • Would of definitely pushed to get that cinema price lower before I accepted, other than that the rest is a good deal.

Since my conversation with retentions an hour or so ago, I have an offer showing on my account for £17 entertainment and £1 for HD and boxsets.£5 a month cheaper than the guy offered me on the phone.

When you say you have "an offer showing on my account".. what do you mean? In the "my offers" section in my account, I only have a link to the chat. Should I be looking somewhere else?

    Thanks!

Hi, it was in the sky.com/mydeals .. I think, not checked it again since last week as hoping might be able to wangle a slightly cheaper price for entertainment.
