Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

If you get disconnected and then wait for a new offer do you lose the Sky VIP years you have accrued ?
I've been with them for several years and joined VIP last week. Although the Sky VIP offers haven't appealed to me yet it would be a shame to lose the years I have built up and have to start again.0 -

I would have thought so but I honestly don't think you'll miss out on anything.0 -

They told me on the phone that the best TV deals go to long term customers.0 -

Lies, you can join as a new sky Q Ent with fibre max for £38 (ENT £15), this was via the sky Reps you find in shopping centers."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

I was talking about the VIP scheme specifically. They may come back after (or before) you're turned off.0 -
I upgraded from Sky HD box to Sky Q. Found that the retention offers to upgrade to Q directly werent as enticing as using the retention offers "to keep" Sky HD and then using the sky VIP app to upgrade to Sky Q.
Ended up with:
Via Sky/Mydeals link:
Sky Entertainment - £15.00
Sky Cinema: £10.00
HD Pack: £1.00
And then via SKY VIP app:
Sky Q 2TB with MultiScreen (2nd box) and UltraHD £30 setup and then £13pm
Thanks for posting this, I wanted to do something similar.
I just accepted the mydeals offer (15 + 1 + 1 + 22 for ents, boxsets, hd, sports and cinema) but also wanted to upgrade to sky q.
I have the offer in the VIP app for £30 upgrade to a 2tb box but it requires a new 18 month contract when my TV deal is only for 12 months. Will I be committed to paying full price for 6 months?0 -

Yes, of course you can call them up at that time and try to renegotiate but the ball is very much in their court and any deal you agree then will be for 12 months minimum again.
You can always contact them now stating the offer for the Q box and seeing if you can extend the new deal for 18 months or perhaps pay a little more for the Q box but for a 12 month contract.0 -

He had no offers on Sky Q because I'd taken the offer prices so he transferred me to Upgrades who couldn't help and then retentions.
I had the option:
* 1 TB Sky Q for £100 install
* 2 TB Sky Q and extra box for £50 install and multi screen £13 pm
I went for 2TB and managed to get the install down to £30 as had been quoted that on a pervious call.
The whole discussion took 1.5 hours plus 3 follow up calls so wasn't simple to sort.0 -
A friend had some great success getting mid-contract discounts for his father so I tried the same:
8 Month Contract Ending March 2020
Sky Q 2TB with 2 extra boxes
£22 Ent
£13 multi screen
£5 HD
£4 Kids
BBand and Phone 12 month contract ending September 2019
£32 Fibre Max
£10 Anytime calls
They offered to stop ripping him off for Kids and HD and change the price to £1 p/m like most people have, no contract change.
Broadband and phone got them down to £27 Fibre & £8 Anytime = £35 p/m
Had another go yesterday but the guy was adamant they couldn't go any lower and even if we started to transfer they'd only offer £2 more off.
Looks like Now Broadband @£25p/m plus £60 Quidcomaking £20 p/m is the only sensible option.0 -

I went to Virgin for 2 months a couple of years back and my length of service was wiped to zero.0
