  • Hi I am a platinum Sky customer and have just given notice on my contract as the contract was due to go from £27.50 to £67.
When giving notice I was offered Entertainment for £18 and Sports for £18, I presently als have box sets and Kids which would have been a nominal £1 each.
My issue is that my Sky + box is now 10 years old and showing signs of coming to the end of its time. They offered me a Sky Q 1TB box for £100 which I refused as I think its cheeky considering new customers get this for free.
On mydeal my package is now available for £34 in total but I will not renew unless I get Sky Q included. Has anyone had any experience of this scenario and what was the outcome>

    Thanks

I got them to replace my HD+ box a few months back for a flat £20 mid contract with no changes to it so it's perfectly possible. When they phone back just tell them that your box is failing so there's no point in renewing, put the ball in their court.

I'm mid re-negotiation myself at the moment.

It was through the Winback team on Live chat. Retentions offered me Fibre Max and Line Rental for £27!

How did you get through to the winback team on sky chat? Or is it always the winback team on there?

    I am confused with Sky Q :

"All Sky Q kit is loaned to you at no cost and must be returned at the end of your relevant subscription. Sky Q 1TB box: 700GB personal storage. Sky Q 2TB box: 1.7TB personal storage. 300GB storage reserved by Sky."
    So how do Sky justify a £199 charge for installing a 2Tb Q box - but only £10 for a 1Tb box ?

They don't have to justify anything, if you don't want to pay it don't.

Was that after you had cancelled everything?

Sky chat told me that one I had put a cancellation in , I wouldn't get any offers in

They told me the same thing but I've got an offer online on the homepage when signed in, I had an offer on the box itself in 'Messages' and they've phoned me twice (the first one was blocked though). They also sent me a text advising me to go to http://sky.com/reviewmyoptions but when you go to it it tells you to either phone or use the Live Chat which was funny.

What would you expect "Your bill from the 4th March will be the quoted amount of £43.05, until your discount ends" to mean ?

That is what I was told in an email - from 6 weeks ago from Sky - yet today, I received notification of a £2 price rise !!

I`ve been on a rolling 1 month 50% off deal for a few years now, don`t even need to do the yearly negotiating call anymore, I just get a an annual letter informing me my deal will continue.
Since I`ve had the price hike letter informing me my price will increase by £2 will my monthly bill actually increase by £2 or should it be £1 (due to 50%) or do existing deals not include future price hikes?)
