Hi, I am currently one month in to a 12 month 50% off deal.
I have just bought a new 4K TV and would like to upgrade to sky Q. However i am being told Sky Q is a minimum 18 month contract. Would this mean that when my current 50% deal runs out i am forced to pay full price sky for the remaining 6 months?

Has any negotiated a sky Q 12 month contract.
    Thanks in advance

They would first off cancel your 50% discount offer and put you on Entertainment @ £20 a month and then add £12 a month for multiroom which is a requirement for the 4K content. You'd also be charged £5 a month for HD plus any other add-ons for an 18 month contract. You may be able to get a deal on some of that but considering you've just entered a new 12 month contract, the ball is entirely in their court.

was you already out of contract or was that an upgrade?

    I was out of contract.
  • It was a little harder work this year!

Was on 60% off most basic package.

I was offered £15 “Entertainment” package - didn’t need kids channels so actually wasn’t that bad.

Was going on holiday - so more out of mischievousness - I let them go through with the disconnection.

Today when I returned home - I phoned them to see what they could offer to rejoin.

    Offered (& accepted)
    Sky Entertainment- £13
    Sky Box Set - £1
Could have had HD for £1 too but didn’t bother.
Had to pay annoying one off £10 “set up” charge - tried to dig in my heels & have it removed - but they weren’t having it. Tried to get a £10 credit to cancel it out - again no joy.
    12 months contract.

Free Anthony Joshua fight - They offered me the Joshua fight for absolutely nothing.
I said that I wasn’t that bothered but as they’d use the magic word “FREE” - I though Why not?!

Now I am having to download all the programs that my Sky+ would have recorded had my subscription been active.

Hello everyone, first time poster! I initially joined Sky on the amazing £30 per month deal in 2016, then haggled to get it to £45 for the last year (best I could get offered at the time).

I have just been offered for 18 months on Sky Q by the retentions team:

    Sky Entertainment - £20
    Sky Box Sets - £1
    Sky Kids - £1
    Sky Sports (Complete) - £10
    Sky Sports HD - £2
    Sky Cinema - £7.50
    Sky HD - £1

    Total per month - £42.50

I initially asked for the basic package with Sky Sports Premier League/Football in HD but it was more expensive than the package I was offered, believe it or not! It would have been £47 I think!

Good deal or potential to shave more off?

Decent for the full package, go for it. Do try and not pay the £10 admin fee though.
  • I am currently on an Entertainment pack @ £10.75 per month, rang retentions best I can get is same @ £12.90 for 12 months no tie in, bit stuffed as don't have an aerial or would switch to freeview, freesat without record is a waste of time....or does anyone know if you can buy a budget freesat box with record and live rewind? thought just came to me as I was typing this, off to duckduck...

The Humax HDR-1100S can be had for about £170
  • Have previously been offered entertainment for £12 and HD for £1 and boxsets for £1. Tried today as it finishes Monday and the best I've been offered is £20 for entertainment and £3 for HD. Is calling a better option ?

Cancelling is the best option and letting them come up with something decent.
  • Cancelled already it's due to end Monday so hopefully they improve their offer when it's done
