Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

I left Sky last September so less than 12 months since I left. I previously had Sky HD with 60% discount but I was a bit frustrated about paying for a 'free' Sky Q boxes so left.
I was curious to see what I might be offered so did an online change and was offered 2TB box plus 1 mini box, entertainment, box sets, HD and multiscreen for £30 per month. No install charge but £10 admin fee (18 month contract). I was hoping to get a deal with fibre included but seems cheaper to go with separate provider. I didn't proceed with TV or broadband just yet.0 -
No mention about the admin fee, i've tried to get it removed but apparently it's automatically added by the system and they have no means to credit it. That's from 3 different advisors now, so have a raised a formal complaint.
I couldn't get it removed either. It seemed to be an absolute no-no, even by juggling discounts. It would be interesting to know if anyone has managed to get this dropped.0 -

Got it credited back....but that was last November ....maybe they have hard coded it into the system since then:(0 -
Is this deal any good?

New Sky Q box and Hub

My bill is up to an eye-watering £95.50 as I’ve got sky q multiroom and sports, movies etc basically everything TV (no phone or broadband)
I did the threaten to leave thing a couple of years ago so got the price down below £50 for 12 months. My question is if I do this again what should I be realistically holding out for discount wise on my full tv package? Thanks in advance0 -
£23 a month in total.
Sky entertainment, kids pack, HD pack £17
Multiscreen £6.
I find the only way to get multiscreen discounted is to cancel it. Then wait a couple of days and login to your account on your sky box and there is normally an offer for 50% discount for 6 months. Then just do the same every 6 months.
This is for the old style sky, not sky q. Have kept it the same in case I ever do need to cancel and want to keep the freeview channels.0 -
I just renewed my Sky Q sub (all channels in HD inc sports/movies/box sets/kids) for £41 a month on an 18 month contract. Am happy with that. Pretty much half the standard price. £10 admin fee.
Edit: It's currently showing as £36 + £5 for the Sky Go Extra I was paying for before, so even better!
The split I got (according to a future bill) seems to be:
Entertainment: £15
Sports: £10
Cinema: £6
Sports HD: £2
HD: £1
Box Sets: £1
Kids: £1
Sky Go Extra: £50 -
Evening All,
Cancelled our Sky TV as our 12 month deal expired - have actually been with them for at least 6 years, due to be cut off on the 27th August.
Had one phone call from them so far - made it very clear it needed to be £25 max for Entertainment and Sky Sports with a 12 month contract, basically what I was on for the last year. Phone call lasted about 3 mins, "Ohh ok, we can't match that price. Sorry. I'll make a note in case any offers come up to that price". Heard nothing since.
OH is getting jittery as he enjoys the sport - I mostly enjoy the pause live TV function but I can manage without.0 -
Thanks for the help guys. Will give notice and try and negotiate for around the £41 mark -
One question tho, when I had my hd box you could cancel thru the box itself but I can!!!8217;t find that option - do I have to phone them to give notice on Sky q?0 -
Yeah, you need to ring in. Ask to cancel and say it's too expensive. They'll put you through to retentions.0
