Maxit tv, sky sports Hd, 200mb, weekend calls £57.25.  Was offered £76 first then outbound call was £71, refused that, was on verge of moving to now and sky sports £45 offer, so called the 0203 number and very nice lady offered me that which I a more than happy with.
    What’s the number?

    Is it 0203 743 6946 ??

Had a call from that number yesterday after putting my 30 day cancellation in on Friday.  Unfortunately their "offer" was £54 which was £3 more than normal retentions in India offered me Friday!!

    Old package was £35/mo for:-

    200Mb broadband
    Maxit TV
    weekend calls
2 x TV boxes (not latest & greatest)

Hoping for another call - don't really want the fuss of changing provider

Yes sorry..been away all weekend, that was one.

How long after cancelling did people get a call back? Been a week and nothing yet!
Next day mine. Make sure that your marketing preferences are set so they can contact you.

I would be grateful for some advice as I am not sure where to start.  Currently paying £66.75 month for:
Mix TV, M100 Fibre Broadband, talk weekends and line rental

Out of contract and this feels really expensive so would love to know what others are paying for similar to help me haggle.  Really don't want to leave as Virgin is fastest and most stable provider here.  Thanks
Same package for me, I was offered something like £35 renewal for 18 months.

I cancelled as this is still more expensive than a new customer (£30ish)

I asked them to throw in a signal booster or reduce by a few pounds & they just wouldn't budge.

Hoping for a call back though - last time it was less than 24 hours. It's been a few days this time & nothing 😬

Currently on 350mb (Volt) but not on o2 now and contract up in July. Got offered £28 per month for 200mb and £34 for 350 by retentions after almost an hour of waiting and speaking to 2 people.

Decided to cancel though and see if I get offered anything better. They're offering £32 for 350 to new customers plus £95 amazon voucher so want them to match something similar. Has anyone been offered anything similar?

Can I sign up as a new customer using wife's name?
Didn't get a call back so used the number from a post earlier (020 7943 6947), got through and was offered 350mb internet for £26 a month for 18 months so took it up straight away. Hope that helps someone else!

I was initially offered £25 a month for 100mb internet and weekend calls, but declined insisting that new customers were being offered the same for £24 with £100 voucher (effective £18.45/month) and stating that I was hoping for something closer to this price.

Spoke to various agents (some from UK, some overseas) on the inbound retentions team who were insistent they could not do better so I firmly stood my ground and requested cancellation.

I called the number from an earlier post (0203 743 6947) and was put through to someone who I believe to be from outbound retentions. They put me on hold for a fair amount of time saying he had to check with a manager that they were able to deal with me (presumably as I had called in to them) and after explaining the new customer offer and how I was hoping for an offer closer to that, was instantly offered the M100 plan at £18/month on an 18 month contract.

    Was very happy to accept!

I Currently pay £38.25 for Talk weekends, M350 broadband and Maxit TV. Contract due to end 11th Aug. Called yesterday and was offered £58 so put in for cancellation

I got a call back today
£50 for the same package (Considering my original contract price was £47 before they loaded extra discounts when the price was due to go up in April I didn't think this was too bad)

Was also offered M200, MAXIT TV and talk weekends for £44.00 per month. I went with this package in the end.

Anyone had any deals on ultimate volt?
  • What is likely to get you the best offers? - Putting in a cancellation and waiting for retentions to make contact, or remaining a customer but allowing your discounts to lapse and then threatening to take your custom elsewhere? Thank you.

Question for the experts on this forum:
I'm currently midway through my contract - and over the last week or so have been using Whatsapp chat to retentions to try to "upgrade" in the hope of also getting a better deal at the same time (i.e. a new 18 month contract rather than just an upgrade for the remaining 9 months I have left).
Currently, I believe I am overpaying for what I have (when reading what others have got on here) - this is despite going through the cancellation process last time my contract was up - but maybe I'm not one of the lucky ones to get the really good deals or because I have been a long time customer, maybe Virgin know that I won't really leave.

So to sum up - I've got 500MB BB, Maxit TV and Sky Sports (SD), Landline with anytime call allowance - but no mobile sim.
    Paying £84/mth for the above.

Having read about the o2 sim card volt upgrade deal, I felt I could get myself a £6 sim only deal (via anywhere else) and then I would get 1GB BB and double the data on the sim card (albeit I wouldn't really need it!).

So, basically, for £90/mth in total, I could get the volt benefit (of the increase in BB speed).

So I was hoping to renegotiate the whole package and given I felt like I was already overpaying to hopefully get a deal under £80.

However, I feel my bargaining position is not very strong given I am mod way through contract.
Best deal I could get was £88.75 for my current package plus 5gb sim card - and then the upgrade to 1gb.
However, I would need a new hub4 for which they wanted to charge me £35!

They did offer me the ultimate volt deal - which included cinema and kids (which I won't watch) - a second box (which I don't need) and a 250gb sim card (which would be about 249gb too much!) . Various different agents offered me this for £95/month. And virtually no budging (think I may have got it lowered to £92.75 with one agent).

New customer deals on that package seem to be £85 month with £200 bill credit and/or £197 TCB (compare) - I'd highly doubt that you'd get the £200 bill credit and £197 cashback!!

But even with just the one, it makes the new customer deal about £73 and the best I can do is about £93.

Would I have better luck in 8 months' time?
