  • Hi! I was on a £49 contract for the 'Bigger Bundle' which included M200 fibre broadband and Maxit TV. This was due to go up to £88 in November. Called them up, was offered £65 for basic tv...called them again later and was offered £46 for the same package I am currently on. I accepted! Does anybody know if I could have got this cheaper? Ideally would have liked to add on Sky Sports but I didn't wanna  pay an extra £22 per month.

Have cancelled with them and they are due to call me back tomorrow:

Currently paying £75 / month for the following:

V200 MB Broadband and Talk Unlimited (I believe this has now been replaced with Anytime Extra).

What should I be looking to pay? What is an acceptable price for the above?

Not exactly same package but currently paying £31 for 200mb broadband and weekend calls.
  • I'm currently on 100Mbps Broadband, Bigger TV, Weekend calls paying offer price of £50 per month.  Due to expire at the end of November.

Has anyone had a new deal for this package and what price would you expect to be able to get?

    Thanks in advance

100MB BB and talk weekends phone

    £21.45 p/m on 18m contract

That was their first offer, and in line with new customer deals and competition, so I accepted it and didn't haggle or cancel first.

Would be very happy if they offered me that! Just phoned up to cancel as 100MB BB, Talk weekends and lowest TV package has just shot up to £60.
They put me through to retentions who offered me 100MB BB with talk weekends for £40 or 100MB, Talk weekends and lowest tv package for £35.
We've cancelled out tv licence as never watch live tv, so hopefully get a call back with a good BB and talk weekend deal at some point.

I think it's because at the time their new customer offer was £21.22 after a credit, and Shell/TalkTalk approx £22 for 63MB BB. But I was surprised as usually have to grumble. Left me more worried about the state of the economy and household finances (increased focus on customer retention vs. new?)

Their current new customer offer is lower at £19.84 after credit, and alternatives about the same as previous. Think you should be able to match or better my deal (we also cancelled TV licence for the same reason).

My contract would have ended in a couple of days,Bigger bundle, full house tv (XL),100 meg bb,free weekend calls. Was on a discounted £53 per month going up to £73
Rang up sunday.....once I navigated the menus I got straight through to a human being which was a good start.....was offered £55 per month on an 18 month contract.Tried to get them to match my current deal but wouldn't.Not worth the hassle of threatening to cancel so I accepted.
Guaranteed there would be no price rise in the first year
Currently on the same package as you I think and paying £67.50 with the discount going up to £80.50 - Not sure what discount we really had...

I have been offered the following for £52/month (18 month contract)

    200Mbps Broadband
    Maxit (Bigger TV)
    Phone - Weekend Calls
5GB Sim Card with Unlimited calls/texts

Compared to what I was paying before it is a great deal, but overall is this a good deal compared to what others have been offered ??

Thanks for the response, very interesting to read. Been 8 days now and still no call from the outbound retentions department. Will have to see whether I actually get a call or not!
On a side note, we will be moving house at the end of November, which is also in VM area so no concerns there. If my partner signed up as a new customer at the new address, would we still be able to port our VM home phone number which is in my name? Guessing not, but worth asking!
