Virgin Media retention deals (post your haggling successes)

Hi
I was paying twice the price on what a new customer could get from virgin media
They offered me my package at a lower price but it wasn't great
I have now canceled and am. In the 30 days disconnection period
Will I get a call from them now with a better offer, or do I just join as a new customer with another provider
Thanks0 -
Wait till your time is nearly up, see what happens .make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Had good luck with them. 1 day after cancelling they rang me back, offered the 200/20 package for £20 on a 18 months contract.
Sounds like a decent deal to me, didn’t want to press my luck any further by saying no to that, and hoping for a better offer.
How much do others pay for the 200/20 broadband only package? Cheers0 -

On M350, called to give notice as was considering taking up an offer through Vodafone, 300Mb for around £30 a month.....they beat it with £26pm for 18 months. I was previously paying £34, so an actual decrease is welcome. I'm largely happy with it, even if its slow downloading games and updates on Xbox and Playstation.

My bundle:
Maxit tv + sky sports and racing uk
M500 fibre broadband
Phone: talk more anytime (never use landline)
Ooomph unlimited data sim
Was paying £110.99 now contract is ending and going up to £152.66.
Really can't afford this so going to have to ring them.0 -
I’ve been paying £23 for 200mb bb.Was due to end next month so called today he basically said I can have the same offer for 18 months so just accepted. I know I could probably have gotten a few £ off I’d id cancelled and waited for a a call but in all honesty I couldn’t be bothered.I usually do cancel but crap loads on right now and it’s just one less thing to deal with.Sigless0

We ditched all our TV and Phone services a few ago now in favour of Netlfix and Prime but we still have a Virgin Broadband only deal. We were paying £39 per month for 100mbps but after a bit of haggling, we managed to get it down to £29 for 18 months. Happy days! :-)0

You all seem to be getting much better offers. Perhaps it's because my package includes Talk Anytime. I currently have:
- M100 + Talk Anytime £30. Due to go up to £54 in December.
I called to cancel a couple of weeks ago and was offered different packages:
- M100 + Talk Anytime £37 (Same package with £7 increase)
- M100 + Talk Anytime +5GB* extra on existing sim deal £36
- M200 + Talk Anytime +5GB* extra on existing sim deal £39
- M200 + Talk Anytime £42
I told them I'd hold off on cancelling and think about it.
I didn't really fancy paying more than £30 and didn't need the SIM deal so I called them back a week later to cancel. Went through the whole cancellation process. Job done.
The following day I got a call from retentions offering M100 + Talk Anytime £30. It's exactly the same deal I'm currently on but for 18 months.
Does anyone know if this is good deal?
*I have two Virgin mobile accounts and Virgin offered to upgrade one of them with an additional 5gb.Snootchie Bootchies!0 -
Anyone with just BB manage to get the 5gb sim?I was told yesterday when I renewed that I wasn’t entitled. But would actually be able to make use of it.Sigless0
