Virgin Media retention deals (post your haggling successes)

Yes onejontwo I would agree - you do need to cancel and sign up with someone else before you get a better offer. Unfortunately it didn't work for me this time round as it has in the past! At least I will now get an openreach connection on Wednesday so will then have the luxury of both types of line so I can switch back and forth in future.0

My contract would have ended in a couple of days,Bigger bundle, full house tv (XL),100 meg bb,free weekend calls. Was on a discounted £53 per month going up to £73
Rang up sunday.....once I navigated the menus I got straight through to a human being which was a good start.....was offered £55 per month on an 18 month contract.Tried to get them to match my current deal but wouldn't.Not worth the hassle of threatening to cancel so I accepted.
Guaranteed there would be no price rise in the first year0 -
Currently have the following with VM:
Maxit TV
200MB BB
Talk Weekends
V6 box and a TiVO box in a second room
Current deal was ending and price was heading up to £90.50 later this month. Phoned up yesterday evening and gave my notice of cancellation.
Lovely lady from VM called this morning and offered me the same deal as above for £56.50 a month for the next 18 months. Very happy with that so accepted without the need for further haggling. Result.1 -
100MB BB and talk weekends phone
£21.45 p/m on 18m contract
That was their first offer, and in line with new customer deals and competition, so I accepted it and didn't haggle or cancel first.

Due to haggle on behalf of my grandparents, she is currently paying £50 / month for M100 Fibre broadband and line rental which includes Talk More Anytime and free voicemail.
Any idea what I should haggle for? Thanks in advance.0 -

Under my current contract I have:
Mixit TV (with HD Sky Sports)
100MB Broadband
Talk More Anytime Phone
I am currently paying £77 for it for 18 months then rising to £116.
After reading through the comments on this forum, it seems like I am paying way too much, especially being a long term customer 10+ years. Should I phone up and try haggle the price down a bit or is that price justifiable? Thanks in advance.

I have the ultimate oomph bundle currently pay £91 per month rising to £141 in the middle of November. What strategies do people recommend for getting them to lower the price?
Thanks0 -
Phoned to cancel as prices were poor and was seriously moving to sky after two days got call from outbound team who have offered
Max it tv
Kids pick
Baby tv
Sky sports
Bt sports
Sky cinema
Asian mela
All in HD bt sport in 4k
1gb fibre broadband
Talk more anytime
2nd tivo box
Unlimited sim card
£65 a month for 18 months I'm well chuffed just goes to show price is very flexible
TIP - The first team you phone in to ALWAYS offer crap deals the key is to go ahead with cancellation and then within the 30 day notice period the outbound team will call you0
