Not sure about the exact package, if it even has a name.
I phoned to cancel and was offered

SuperFibre 70 (supposedly discontinued so hard to compare)

It's a 12 month contract, but with an 18 month discount.

£24 a month for the next 18 months, although I expect they'll be adding a couple of price rises in there first. I'm not too bothered about that as it will just be more opportunities to ask for something better.

I've seen better deals on this thread, but there's not many suppliers offering a cheaper deal around, and Virgin is vastly superior in my opinion. I've no desire of toying with retentions yet.

They did comment on my high usage. Apparently more than 1000GB one month:eek:, but I don't think it affected the offer.

Has anyone with the Full House tv package managed to obtain any credit or discount off their bill as a result of the recent removal of the U.K. TV channels?
  • So, called disconnection. Offered £42.50 for 150bb, mix TV and weekend phone. Gave notice. Call back offered 200 BB, mix TV, weekend phone for £40pcm, or £35 pcm for 100bb rest same. 18 month discount 12 month contract. Took 200bb deal only because over 8 students blocks of flats have been built locally in last 3 years and average BB has drop substantially

I have been with virgin for years and have been playing the game of cancelling and waiting for the outbound retentions to call with a deal.
This time seems different though as I normally get a call with in two weeks and its now near 3, is that normal these days?
The only difference I see this time is that I did not cancel the telephone line as they convinced me to let the new provider to do it as part of porting, was that wrong to do?

I put my cancellation in and got a call back 3 days later with a much improved offer.

If you are high user, don't expect a call back, if you don't have a BT line then get the ball rolling now.

I’m a super high user. Over 1tb a month apparently. I also only have broadband. I got a call within three days offering me 200mb for £22 a month for 18 months.

A thread on HotUKDeals suggests this may be an opportunity to cancel without penalty for those still in contract.

    Has anyone tried?

Rang on Friday for my annual retention call huge queue as expected with the UKTV stuff but was patient and got through...

    Full House TV
    Sky Sports + HD
    100MB Broadband
Don't give a !!!! what the phone is as I only ever use it to call VM to cut a deal :rotfl:

    £78 per month.

In my current contract which was about to end I was paying £83 for the same rolling onto £102 (which I was never going to pay!).

Would have been happy with a match of the £83 but to get it cheaper I seen as a good result. Furthermore I don't have the stress of waiting for outbound to call me which is a risky game at the moment with the amount of people wanting to leave.

For sports/football fans VM still the best deal.

Interestingly although a 12 month contract some of the discount goes on for 18 months:-

    T Sky Sports Discount (until 27th July 2019) T Loyalty Discount £4 per month for 18 months (until 27th January 2020) T Discount (until 27th January 2020)
