Morning all
Oh dizzy I'm so sorry to hear the weather is being so horrible to you, I hope it stayed away from your house. Where is that money mr Cameron promised for flood defence!!!! I saw on the news after the last floods he was going to be giving areas funds to help put things in place to protect homes or was that another fake promise for the cameras.
Sending massive supporting hugs and staying dry vibes to you and your stuff.
Dh got home last night stinking of smoke, he'd popped in to see his mum and while he was there smoke alarm went off she'd put food in the microwave for too long and set fire to the plastic tray, he was rushing round ending Windows etc but at least we know her alarm works.
She's also managed to boil her electric kettle dry by leaving the lid up so need to get her a new one of them. Think I need to be spending a bit more time round there checking on her.
Did a bit of furniture Tetris/swapping with dd2 last night. Took her our wooden bunk beds as ds2 only uses the bottom bunk, top was stashed away. They has a single wooden bed to swap him as they didn't need that. Also put their big metal single bed with roll out guest guest bed under outside and within 10 mins a neighbour was knocking and introducing himself as local scrap man and said he'd take the bed away for them, they also gave him a staircase they'd lost the fixings to.
Plan to nip in attic this morning and clear a load of paper clutter like mags and old school stuff that can be recycled. Hoping to fill a few bags before tomorrow.
Water main burst locally so no pressure here ended up using water from the waterbutt to flush the loo and kept a few neighbour's supplied with the same.
Hugs were needed and hope you all have as good a day as possible.SPC~12 ot 124

Morning all. Had a lie in so no time for flying this morning, just straight on with the paid stuff.
Hope your house is dry this morning Dizzy. I too would be selling up.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Mrs-mp, it sounds like you need a (((hug))), what with MiL and burst water main.
Hope you and yours are safe and dry, Dizzy.
Professional development? Working lunch? In a GC? Really, Narc0? :rotfl: (if you believe I've never done anything like that, you'll believe anything!)
Every time I thought about going out yesterday to deliver the pile of leaflets, the heavens opened  They will be have to be delivered today.
I managed to get half the icing done on DS1's cake - I still need to draw the detail on the figure and stick on the cut-out lettering. It's got to be done today
My report is far too long, so I have been cutting it and rearranging it with new sub-headings so that people can skip what they don't want to read! I also need to add photos to break up the pages and illustrate what we did. It would be good if I could get it finished today, but I absolutely must put together a slide show for the Old Wives' meeting on Monday evening, and as we're out all day tomorrow / Saturday / Sunday and on Monday afternoon, that just leaves today
So my list for today says:
- WMx2
- S&S bathroom
- finish icing
- S&S kitchen
- phone re digital projector for Monday evening
- set up slide show
- deliver leaflets
- go shopping in town
- carry on with report writing.
Fortunately the rest of the house is tidy and I don't need to water the garden!
Hope everyone has a calm day. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed.0 -
Morning all
Dizzy - I hope everything is okay now and the rain hasn't done any further damage.
I have no idea where yesterday went! I got sucked in to the black hole which is the internetAs a result I haven't got much done but this needs to be turned around so I can have some time off this weekend as ex is coming on Sunday instead of Saturday to see DD and I don't want to be spending Saturday cleaning. DD is at philosophy after school so won't be home until 5.30 if it runs to time so I have an extra hour or so to get things done.

Morning
My personal declutter mission is to relist all the items in my ebay pile that have ended and not been put back on. My husband has a comic collection of 1,000s that we would get a pittance for if we sold to the dealers but piecemeal we can make a few hundred per series. However it is slow going as you can imagine.
Thankfully we do have space for them in the office. One sold this week for £13 that had been listed multiple times and ignored.
Love to all

Pigpen- did you manage to get your hair washed? !
funnily enough I have just this minute done it.. I figured as I can't stop crying because I am in so much pain anyway it won't make things any worse to wash my hair seeing as that is one of the things making me feel so crappy.. anyway.. I'm now exhausted, bleeding really heavily again, in more pain because it aggravated my hips and set my back off again and I still can't stop crying.. I need a jolly good slap today.
OH's mother who was on the train here the minute Squeaks arrival was imminent and she was here for the first visiting after I was moved to the postnatal ward isn't coming to see mini-munchkin until NEXT weekend now and she will be nearly 2 months old before his dad sees her.. it !!!!es me off, I bet if she had been a boy they would both have been here in record time. I know they weren't happy that I kept it all so quiet and didn't even mention her birth on FB until she was a week old.. but still, they were kept informed throughout.. mostly..
I don't see my dad anyway and my mother came the day I was moved out of ICU.. but that is all she has been too. I very nearly died and they can't even be bothered to see if I am ok.. then they wonder why I am not happy.
I've not had any contact with any of the siblings since January when it was Tabithas birthday so not even that sister has been round.. I did remove her from my fb because someone has been passing info to cf so everyone who was still 'friends' with him was removed.. they can't tell him what they don't know can they? I believe it was this sisters husband passing on info.. but there were other annoying issues too .. like my brother having my nephew baptised and didnt even invite me!! DS1 is his godfather, I didnt get an invite.. clearly I am no longer part of their family.. their choice, I will survive.
Anyway.. while in pain and snivelling I also stuffed flowers in a vase.. half of them went in the bin because they had grey fluffy mould growing on them.. disgusting!!! and I put the DW on twice.. we now have clean cutlery and pans.. one more run needed with plates and we may be up to date on those.. I need to get the basket of washing out too.. it will mean doing 2 items at a time from the kitchen to the line.. but it is going out.. and I have 2 loads to wash and that is all up to date too.. about 40 loads to fold though, I find that really painful and extremely tiring so do 3 or 4 things each time I go in the kitchen.. it will all be done eventually.
I want to vacuum.. the hallway is covered in cat litter and dead leaves and the living rooms are all bitty.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Pigpen - please take care of yourself. Your children love and need you, even if your adult relatives are not behaving like grown-ups should.
If you are still in pain and bleeding, you ought to be resting and giving yourself time to heal - not forcing yourself to do housework. Mini-munchkin will not appreciate it if you ignore her needs, then you will have a crying baby to add to the chaos too. And if you put yourself back in hospital, all your children will be upset.
P - L - E - A - S - E do the sensible thing and leave the housework to others until you feel better. Folding bits of washing is one thing, hanging them out on the line is quite another. Let others do it, even if they don't do it as well or as quickly as you.
Does your OH know how much pain you are in?
Gentle (((hugs))), even though you don't do them!0
