Welcome back Kaz2904.
Today's achievements:
[STRIKE]- Shower and dress
- S&S bathroom
- S&S kitchen (I cleaned it thoroughly yesterday, including steam mopping the floor, but DH never leaves it tidy after preparing breakfast)
- post a letter
- SW weigh-in (not looking forward to this)[/STRIKE] I had lost a pound but am still 8 oz outside my target range
- transfer my Cash ISA to fixed rate, as the good deal on a variable rate ISA that I got in April has crashed with a huge drop that I can't afford to ignore - all thanks to the EU debate - turned out not to be necessary, as I had had the foresight to pick a fixed rate when I opened the account
[STRIKE]- more report writing (it's turning into a marathon, but an interesting one)
- lunch
- vol job all afternoon
- cook something for tea
- DH out this evening, playing with more model railways[/STRIKE]
- carry on report writing - still not finished - OR go out and deliver flags and leaflets - not in the downpours we've been having all evening!
- QHI should clear the pile - will do it as soon as I've signed off.

Today I put back cleaning materials into the cleaning cupboard which are dusty as I couldn't be bothered to clean them.
Since I managed to avoid the dreaded over our heads kitchen refurb which would have been done incorrectly. There are piles of kitchen goods in my living room.
I am using professional cleaning goods which are wonderful.

Good morning lovelies
Iona - had a chuckle about washing hair in zero gravity. Oh, the problems poor astronauts face :rotfl:
About to face the day - had a shower and a cuppa. Could've gone outside for the shower as its pouring down now. Which one of you did a rain dance in my garden? I was enjoying my lovely sunny weather!!
I'm cooking for 150 builder/electrician chaps today at the trade day DH is hosting at his work, so no doubt will come home reeking of fried onions and sausages. Eau de burger van....lovely.0 -
Morning everyone
Pigpen agree with what Iona says. Or when MIL was ill I managed to wash her hair with her leaning over the kitchen sink. She wasnt able to lean over enough to get her head into the sink and it did get a bit messy but we managed.
So I have a busy day today and instead of getting a good nights sleep it has all been whirring around in my brain. Paid stuff no. 1, then paid stuff no. 2, then off to a different site for a meeting with boss of job no. 2, then picking DS1 up from work, then home, then back out again for gym class. Phew!
I MUST order DS1s prescription, I need to buy dog biscuits, DS1 wants his hair cutting, tax credits renewal needs finishing. And I have no idea what we are having for tea.
But first I need a shower!0 -

Could you go to a local saloon and ask for a back wash pigpen or as a last resort dry shampoo?
When fil was poorly I used to put a kitchen chair back to the kitchen sink sit him there with lots of towels padde round and do a sort of back wash using jugs to rinse his hair off, that worked of a fashion.
Morning all

Morning all
Went up to bed last night planning on having a shower to find no clean or dry towels! I'm starting to think DD is getting showered while wearing them the rate she seems to be going through them. Got up this morning and the towels were still wetter than usable and had started to smell. I'll have to buy some bicarb from Wi1k0s next time I'm in town and give them all a good wash. So WM is on its second load, 1st load is in the TD and I'm still in my pjs
Plan for today is to run to Mr A for some groceries and clear the paperwork hotspot which has grown on my desk, more laundry, and other flying if I can manage it. I'm really tired atm so my get up and go has left the building. I could quite happily curl up and sleep the week away but I won't.
I forgot to put the oxtail on yesterday for tea, so this morning I've got it out the freezer and I'm leaving it sat on the side to defrost a bit before I put it in the slowcooker. I just need it defrosted enough that I can separate it out into the individual bits to minimise the amount of liquid I put in the SC.

Good luck with the hair washing Pigpen I don't think I can offer anything more inventive than the impressive advice already offered; it isn't exactly the sort of weather for being out in the garden with a hose pipe........
I'm optimistic about my shoulder as managed to undo my own bra last night, albeit pulling it down a bit and wriggling. Have taken the plaster off after a week and am surprised to see so much bruising, but I think it is feeling better although stiff. Have a physio appt next week so doubtless she will address that in a torture-style manner.
Mr N did a lot of flying yesterday eve as I am head down with my last report. Heard from the uni yesterday that there will be no more assessments needed till Sept, so although I've got a few private enquiries on the go, the mad pressure is thankfully off.
I found a mouse in the kitchen yesterday, let me pick it up so it must have been ill. I put it outside with some sunflower seeds, didn't have the heart to kill it, and it limped off dragging a leg.
Only other things I managed yesterday apart from the report were half drowning getting the washing in, checking greenhouse, filling bird feeders and cooking dinner.
Sun and showers today; I want to make the most of the sun as after all that rain it will be easy to pull weeds out. However my personal target is to email that report to uni by 4pm. Coffee due for inspiration I think.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0
