It is stated in the deal.
Use the deal to haggle
Call Sky, tell them you went to money saving expert forums and saw TalkTalk are doing their own loss leader to combat Sky £61 deal.
The TalkTalk deal is £27 for 18m free line rental, free broadband and free anytime calls.
Ask them "What can you do for me, your loyal customer"
If they offer nothing special ask for retentions dept, be angry and say "can you please tell me what I need to do to leave Sky, I believe I need some sort of MAC code" you do not actually need these anymore but it shows them you are serious about leaving.
Whatever they come back with say "you will have to do better"
If they don't, say "OK I have spoken to TalkTalk and have till the 16th, so if you do give me a reason to stay, to reward my loyalty, I am out of here."I just called and they refused to offer me the deal as i currently have Sky TV. Apparently the offer/code is not valid for Sky TV customers.
Poor and a complete waste of time. Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !0 -

Yesterday I spoke to two people on the phone and two on chat with no luck, today I got through to someone who actually knew what he was doing and was very efficient, shame they don't train all their staff to the same level.0 -
I have Sky so can't take this offer however I have a friend currently with no broadband or telephone line.
Would Sky let me pay the bill so she can take up this offer?0 -

You are a customer who does not qualify for the offer, so I can't understand how your paying your friend's bill would help.0 -

I don't qualify so I can't sign up.
I know someone who doesn't have Broadband or Landline which they want to have but can't afford and i'm willing to pay for it for them so they can take advantage of the offer in their home.
My question is will they let me pay for her landline/broadband for her or does the person taking up the offer have too?
I can easily give her the money each month so she doesn't have to worry about the costs, but if it's easier for me to pay for her...0 -

Why not just have your friend take out the offer, if you have been a Sky Customer you are not elligible.
As I have said in previous post, use this deal to haggle, see above for details.

Ah clearer now
Sky use debit/credit card to verify ID, if you use a card you have never used with them it may be OK or it may not, only way to find out it to try.
You go to the site and register as her, you give your card details and see what happens, it will take a £5 or £25 charge depending on whether there is a BT line in her property.
Then it will have a direct debit screeen, that is the key one although with a £50 credit and half price line rental you do not need to make a payment for 5 months.
It may trigger a call back in which case you could offer to pay the initial £25 plus the £61 and call it a gift.
Personally I would strongly advise against doing this as you have a contract that you are responsible for, if you fall out later it may spoil your friendship. In 12 months the price will revert, so you need to cancel the service at that time, no matter what.
If you must continue get your friend a debit card meanwhile so by the end of the contract they can take it over. Thanks, don't you just hate people with sigs !0 -

Will respond to this shortly but firstly i'm trying to sign up for the offer for her and it's asking me for a sky ID - she doesn't have one as she's new?
Any ideas?
Thanks.0
