Switch started fine had plenty of email from previous supplier to inform me of switch process. Had an email from Iresa to say I was now with them and that they would be taking a direct debit out (which they have).
Asked for Gas and Electric readings but no place to fill in the gas readings and electric readings still not showing on account.
Now seem to be limbo not on Facebook so unable to contact them through there have sent an email to state problems but still waiting response.

I have pondered. With my CH now off for the Spring/Summer season and with 65% of my projected annual gas consumption used, I have initiated a switch to A N Other supplier. My 'sums' indicate that it will cost me £1.40 a month more through until early December (when my fix with Iresa would have ended) - the advantage to me is I know what I will be paying for the coming Winter.

There is, of course, a small chance that gas prices will fall but .......

It will be interesting to see how Iresa copes with Final Billing. They have already managed to send me an e-mail 'Sorry you are leaving which asks for suggestions on how they could improve their service'. The late Brian Rix would be proud of them.

My electricity stays put at the moment as monthly usage is more linear.

I'm feeling left out now as my gas moves to Zog this Thursday (switch process started 12th April) but so far there's not been any sign of the "Sorry you are leaving" email from Iresa nor anything regarding the expected reduction in my monthly direct debit.

On reflection Iresa are probably not sorry at all and will probably just be glad to see the back of me. :D

Like you I'm leaving my electricity supply with Iresa based purely on cost and the fact that you would think it would be almost impossible for them to mess up the electricity kWh calculation using a Multiplier of 1!

The email receipt you receive tells you it can take anywhere between 1 and 14 days for the validation process to complete but usually only takes 1 or 2 days before the readings appear in your online account.

That is what we have found, both for our own account and an older relatives' account that we help with. We both only have electric with Iresa.
Readings submitted on the last day of April, appeared in the accounts yesterday with updated transaction records

Are you not limiting your options by switching gas only? Won't most competitive fixes be dual fuel or electricity only?
When the time comes for me to leave Iresa, I suspect that I'll want to do it all in one hit, not two. The stress would just be too much to go through it twice.
Keep us posted, as I'm not aware of anyone reporting a successful switch away from
[STRIKE]Hotel California[/STRIKE]- sorry, Iresa, as yet..
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I haven't signed up to a collective switch now for over 2 years as they haven't been competitive. I could sign up to the MSE Big Switch 7 for electricity but, for the moment, I am better staying with Iresa - warts 'n' all.

  • Under no circumstances should you switch to this company. The customer support is non-existent. I have tried ringing their "help" desk on six occasions and never been less than 21st in the queue. After waiting five minutes the position never reduces. I filed a support ticket and after 10 days it hasn't even been reviewed. I have even tried emailing their CEO - needless to say, no response.

A completely hopeless outfit that needs to be shut down.
  • Registered with Iresa mid-March asking to swap end April - had confirmation. Wrote three times two weeks before switch asking progress - no reply. Tried calling, no reply after ten mins. Have now gone elsewhere as a company unable or unwilling to communicate with their customers spells danger to me.

They aren't taking on new business until they get the problems sorted anyway.

Switching a dual fuel tariff is pretty much the same as going through it twice. They never switch at the same time. I wish CEC would compare separate with dual fuel.
