Got through at 17:05 so 32 minutes to get to #1

Iresa have told me that OFTM have been supplying my Gas and Electricity since 28/02/18

He will pass my account to the girl who deals with final bills and I should have the final bill tomorrow.

Refund of balance should take 3 to 5 days.

I asked if I had not phoned up to find out what was going on it would have taken 8 to 10 weeks to get final bill and refund!
I asked why the delay and he said they are only a small company! :rotfl:

    E-mail just received:

Thank you for your call today,

I have passed your account over to my colleague Sandra who will issue you a final bill.

    Kind regards,

What he didn't tell you was the 3-5 working days starts ticking once they've processed your refund. Once they issue your final bill, they then put a request through to the finance department. After the finance department have put your refund through is when the clock starts ticking.

My own advice, and what I did myself, is to hound them for your final bill. As soon as your get your final bill, hound them again for your refund. Yes it took me a phone call every day - in some cases more. But I got my refund a lot faster than some of those in this thread that switched before me.

Persist with them and don't let them forget you. :D

Found the email which confirms what I've said. Ironically enough by the same chap you spoke with today.
Thank you for your call today,

Refund usually takes 3-5 working days after we have issued you a final bill.

    Kind regards,

Did you speak with somebody to confirm this? If so, don't be too surprised if you get your refund this afternoon. Or like me, the following working day after the refund was confirmed on the telephone.

Note further to my earlier post re the help that the Citizens Advice Consumer Service had provided to me, someone has posted up on trustpilot that Citizens Advice (or more accurately the Citizens Advice Consumer Service) have a specialist team set up dealing with people blocked from transferring from IRESA

    https://uk.trustpilot.com/users/5ab39b7e4de5666d34259ccf

So if your transfer from IRESA is wrongly blocked then ring the Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 03454 040506

I tried this route as my account is at £0 but they are still blocking my switch so they rang Iresa for me and came back saying that Iresa want my account to be in credit by at least a month's worth of electricity before they will let me switch! And Consumer Advice agreed with them and won't help me further until I ring Iresa and over pay them! Even though I had already rung Iresa and paid a one off amount of their choosing to make my account zero!

They making the rules up as they go! My Electric was £1.60 in credit when I started my switch! My Gas was £53.51 added together they were slightly more than my monthly DD of £54.99

My pending refund today which is 6 weeks later is £41.28

Best get on the phone pay them a bit more. Then as has been said by others get onto the 0800 433 7812 number everyday to bug the Cr*P out of them!
