Finally a day of sunshine yesterday. So to resist the urge to sneak a fag I just stayed busy and, wow, I got loads done. Should definitely keep that going
.
Got home, fed the kids, cut the grass, washed the car, got some plants trimmed and flower/herb beds tidied, hoed (sp?) some weeds where we want to put the kids' playground. Later I tidied and cleaned the conservatory a bit, measured stuff in the bathroom (need to get new bathroom seal and shower screen seal) and the garden (need a anti weed membrane).
Also cooked a lovely Bahraini chicken and rice dish with enough leftovers for two lunches. And did another freezer audit. Will do a meal plan today.
Then when I was finished and sat down at 9:50 I nearly caved and thought, oh just the one. But just ran off to bed :rotfl: to read my book. Today I'm so glad I did.
Hopefully continue along those lines today
Bob glad your MIL is better and great saving on the BTL.
SpekySquarehead could you not put 20-30 quid in a pot at the start of the month for your gym classes and then you don't have to count it as spend day as it is a regular occurrence and "paid for" by allocating it at the start of the month.
Oh and some good news financially. DS got into the breakfast club at his school (25p a day) 5 days a week. That will save us about £120 a month compared to the community centre.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Great saving Thrifty glad for you.
Think its my turn for the blues today. Have that feeling that nothing is possible and it all just feels so bleak. I know that is not the case its just brain chemicals. Will go and sniff an orange or something" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Today I emptied out the paddling pool. Mostly over myself (!) but a fair amount made it on to the garden. The pool was all green and 'things' were probably starting to evolve in it...!
Another Nsd in the bag - up to 14 now. CB arrived so that got paid off the mortgage taking us just under 35K.
We had a letter of apology from dd's school, admitting their mistake, which was good.
Fmess - do you mark A level? With you mentioning that you start another round of marking, and knowing all our GCSEs are finished, I wondered if it was...
A much less overwhelmed day today. Plenty of recycling done at work as I remove papers I no longer need, with new gcse and a level syllabuses (syllabi?) starting in september. Very therapeutic- though I have to take it easy so as not to hurt my hands.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
A SFD. Quiet pottering. Filled the green bin. Bits of cleaning and tidying. Not really feeling it today.
DS3 is home. He asked me about his WTC. I said he had sent his renewal in but had he had it confirmed/ was it through. After checking e-mails/ various bank statements it turns out he owes me last month's 'keep' (he did phone me whilst he was away to ask when he was due to pay me) and will owe this month's on Thursday.
Quite pleased as I took £10 out of the bank earlier in the week to give me a rough idea how much was left (I have all the receipts) and have been a bit anxious (my safety blanket is getting smaller) although most of what has been spent was necessary (buying a toilet roll holder and a small bin count as extravagances in this instance). The money DS3 will pay me and the money DS2 will pay back next Tuesday (he's waiting for a £2000 tax rebate which they have messed up twice) will make me much happier.
Today I am grateful for water (trying to get back onto tap rather than 17p per 2 l fizzy - and no chocolate, for DS3's musings on his room (he's thinking he could use a larger table so that all his friends could play games when they come, but had forgotten that I suggested putting the kitchen table in his room - I have a larger farm house one which has been leaning against a wall since we moved back here) and the smell of greenery - chopped off the ivy down the street (belongs to the furniture shop, I asked permission and I chop it when it starts to encroach on the pavement). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Morning all,
As yesterday was a spend day for the gym, I also made a trip to Tesco afterwards. That should mean the next few days I will rack up some NSD's. I said it yesterday, but I feel really determined to rack up as many NSD's as possible.
Thanks to YNAB, I've got money in the bank but again thanks to YNAB, this money is already allocated to various things. On paper, I could go and spend like it did last year (and got me into this debt), however I'm a converted man. Really excited to save money.0 -
Thanks guys. Plus having to report my sins here helps this time too
. Day number 5 now, woohoo. Made easier by the fact that I know have a full blown cold WITH hay fever. New combination too me. But still managed to keep busy last night. Fed the kids after work and then hubby went to football training. The kids and I went our in the garden and did some more weeding of the future playground. Quick bath for the kids, quick hoover round the house. Dosed up on lemsip and antihistamine and off to bed with a book.
Fmess well done on reaching 50%
Xspender there you go. After moving house it is nigh impossible to not spend money, so 2 is good
apple muncher wow, 14 NSDs and a mortgage under 35K. I saw in you signature you managed to pay about 1.5k off a month. Tell us your secret
