Well I am confessing to a fair amount of Costalot coffee whilst away, but we didn't have a single meal out thanks to good planning on mine and bestie's part.
Just need to get stuff in order - I have a long list of frogs waiting for me after 3 days away.
Nice to see everyone getting on so well so far.Not giving up

Plus if your kids are like my son, maybe wonga. He found a £ coin down the sofa seat we were sat on once and now he goes round dipping for treasure whenever we go there." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

NSD 2 in the bag despite going to town to collect dd's new glasses - better than waiting a week for when we'd next be free.
We end up with a lot of uneaten crusts here and instead of composting them, I decidd to turn them into bread and butter pudding. Turns out that b&b pud is one of dh's faves! Only took 14 years for him to mention it...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Busy day although it may not look like it to anyone passing by, but I've done a shedload of marking.
I still have plenty more to do over the next few days/weeks but it will make July/August time more happy (I hope).
Bagged my first nsd of the month as well. Happy days.
Although I am suffering a bit with what I suspect is caffeine withdrawl - that will teach me to spend my life drinking posh, expensive coffee when I'm not used to it.Not giving up

I've just started feeling overwhelmed with dread at the thought of going back to work. It's like that Sunday night feeling but trebled. Does any other teacher feel this way?Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #820

Morning all,
dizzyblnd - yes I get the back to work dread with teaching although at the moment I am just focussed on breaking up for the 6 week holiday!
So my personal spending budget has been blown already. Not really down to one thing except my desire to socialise and treat myself too much. However, most things are pretty frugal versions of how I used to do things, have been on a hen weekend and the whole thing cost £85 including a day in a spa, a two course lunch, an evening meal, decorations, presents for the hen and lots of prosecco
I am however doing lots of exam marking so the money will be coming back in but it would have been nice to have used all of that to get rid of the debt. Oh well.
Today is promising to be a glorious day weather wise so the washer is on and I am sat in the conservatory in my pjs with the doors open and will crack on with some marking.
Have a lovely day allLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Dizzyblnd - I'm like fmess, counting down to the summer! But exams, marking, reports, re-witing the departmental handbook, re-planning next year as we have a big timetable change starting in sept plus the new gcse and alevel specs, finalising a day trip to France, writing next year's budget...all need to be done. All with their special deadlines. As well as the usual lot of teaching!
Am ensuring dh and I write down evey single spend, as this is our last month on my extra income. Although I count NSDs for myself only, 20 is a challenge. #3 today yay!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Thank you for my number thrifty
Friday had a spend of £30 but this was a reduction from the full price of £70 and was something I very much wanted so am happy
NSD yesterday, should be another NSD today but will confirm tomorrow. Still haven't eaten my giant frog -- must do ASAP  Think part of the reason I keep putting it off is because it will be a stressful experience
All the teachers on this thread amaze meWhen I was at school I never realised just how much work went on behind the scenes -- you are fabulous and good luck with the exams

Yes, I'm like the other teachers with the Sunday night dreads. Much as I enjoyed my few days away I don't feel much rested, and I'm with Fmess, just counting down to the 6 weeks now. There's loads to do in between including marking, exams, new timetable, new syllabus for GCSE, my appointment with Occ Health etc etc. It's going to be manic and I'm going to have no life but I will definitely be celebrating come the end of July.
I've done my tutoring today and spent a couple of hours in the kitchen using stuff up. I've prepped and cooked a load of sorry looking veggies, made a tomato sauce, salad and cold meats for dinner and a lovely healthy banana and almond cake in the oven as I type.
I can declare nsd number 2 because all I have to do for the rest of the day is to mark a set of books and crack on with the exam stuff.
Rather typical that the weather is glorious now it's time for me to be heading back to work. Not giving up
