Impressive Kat think my daughter is following you, just left the Philippines now in Malaysia, climbed Mount Kinabula today 4095m. Can't see her getting to Oz until July now. So she won't back until end of next yr so I may do some travelling to visit her next yr. Good luck with the ballet.
On naughty step and its only day 2 Grannie Rocker bought gig tickets today oops. Showing my age for Bad Company and Richie Sambora!
Nothing else to report, kid free today so will get some jobs done tonight hopefully in the garden as still sunny here, slight chilly breeze.

Frog List

2) Assignment 2
3) Update tax office with car details
4) Finalise childcare for June and July - Done :j
I have managed to eat 2 frogs today
The others will probably happen towards the end of the month.
Today should be a NSD and I have used up 2 bananas and some other store cupboard ingredients to make GF clean eating chocolate and banana muffins. I have also fished out of the packing boxes the ingredients for meatballs with spaghetti, veggie chilli and a quorn curry so that will be us sorted for most of this week.
I have spent some time today meal planning my first week of clean eating in the new house and putting together my shopping list. It looks like most of the items I need (have to be GF too) are Sains not Aldeee but will use both stores if I can. This is the something for me today, I know it is usually a chore but I am committed to eating clean going forward so it is something for me.
Overwhelmedness - Yesterday I loaded and un loaded the dishwasher and packed a couple of boxes for the house move. This evening I am planning to do a load of washing, sort out the little piles of laundry lying about and make a nice home cooked clean mealSave £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Sorry not sorted signature yet.
Today I have been painting. Have struggled to do anything for the last 3 days so this is progress. However arms especially (but not exclusively) are aching.
Plasterer came today (should have been yesterday - spent £1 as the change of day meant I couldn't do the local history meet up, so I did a quick bus ride to drop off a book and some photos. Should have been £2 but the driver on the way back wouldn't take my money. Getting onto the bus made me wince and I think sometimes they decide you should get the 'free for disabled' even if you don't have anything to say you are - happened a few times before my op when I was obviously struggling a lot more than the pensioners and a lot of the official 'disabled').
I got the baby plasterer. I was wondering how much he had grown. When I had the dpc at the other house done he was a moody teenager and his dad only let him mix plaster and trundle it about in wheelbarrows. So I opened the door and yes baby plasterer is fully grown and allowed to do the plastering. Only the base course done - he/ they will return in a few days when it has dried out a bit to put the top skim on.
So took painkillers (my back mainly) and then started on the painting. Painted the long wall, half the window wall (bed and other furniture on rest of wall), a bit of the stairs wall and about a third of the ceiling. Gloss on skirting boards of these walls, all the 'window chimney', brought the trap door 'door' down to paint it and got abck on the ladder to do the edges of the 'trap' and the window chimney.
Was hoping for a late burst of energy so I could move the wardrobes and bed etc in front of the wall I have done (and ceiling bit done) and possibly do more wall/ skirting but feels unlikely now - everything seizing up.
Putting £150 towards savings. Painting is definitely what needs to be done (although may visit mum tomorrow).
Sorry I'm not making sense. Today I am grateful that the plasterer came, that I managed to paint and that things are looking more possible now.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
mothernerd sit down and put your feet up! That is a lot of painting to do in one day and on your own. Please look after yourself but glad you are pleased with your progress. You always put me to shame.
nsk wow your adventures sound epic. I'm completely the opposite and a home bird but have been to oz and stayed in Melbourne and agree it's great. Tell more about the boyfriend! But please don't tell me I need to travel to the other side of the world to find one
Today was a spendy day again but all planned and budgeted for. I've done about 5 hours marking, an hour and a half tutoring prep, an hour tutoring and I don't know where the rest of the day went, although I definitely didn't do any cleaning again. I've hit a certain quota on my marking today which triggers them to start processing paying me so that's goodMy tutoring money means that I will break even again, even after all the socialising and I've also booked in another tutoring session for next week so I can afford to go by train to visit a friend at the end of the month
Off to bed now, need to do more marking tomorrow before a hen do on Friday night and Saturday. Night turtlesLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Well I am on the naughty step. I didn't plan my work lunches well enough. Yesterday I was so hungry that I had to go to the shops and buy a bag of crisps :-( Today, I woke up late and didn't have time to throw together my packed lunch. So I spent £2.60 in the canteen. I also paid £4.95 for my Slimming World group and ended up depressed so bought another packet of crisps and a milkyway on the way home. Not a very good start!
Plus side, however, is that I have managed to eat a MAJOR frog. I submitted my tax return today and after doing battle with the tax office, that should be my last ever self-assessment! Sunday is going to be my first NSD this month. I will have to get my butt in gear to try and claw something back!!!NST June 2016 No. 11June Grocery Challenge: £85.66/£120

drcee do not fret. Focus on the positive, I.e. the massive frog you've eaten. I'm doing the same. Smoked again today however managed to do three extra things today. Tidied and decluttered the toy corner in the living room, binning half a bin bag of junk and broken toys. Cooked dinner for tomorrow in the oven while today's was roasting. Had to do so as my slow cooker is now off to the skip
, the ceramic bowl is cracked and leaking. And I tidied the linen cupboard.
We can't make all the positive changes at once. Focus on what you have achieved. Tomorrow is another better day.

Have spent hours today trying to watch the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting broadcast via YouTube...am something of a Buffett fan..might take me a while its 7 hours plus long
Its one thing I cant wait to get back to, investing.
In less exciting news I am logging NSD 1 because I managed to feed us dinner from the proceeds of the penny pot ( our kitchen change pot) & for £3 something got us a lovely sweet chilli stirfry including chicken wings for 84p. (YS of course) Another successful day of 'flying' following the flylady guys & today did the bathroom and decluttered a draw. I love how clean the house is feeling as each day gives you a new room to sort.
Anyway all for now. Night.

Hi I hope it's OK to join for June. Did join May's challenge but fell off the wagon after far too many stressful situations involving money spent and not being reimbursed  On the plus side, June is a clean slate and I have accrued 2 NSDs so far this month :j
• Minimum of 20 NSDs. Yikes. That's quite a high number. Will do my best to avoid being spendy especially as the dreaded car insurance is due this month.
* Pay your debt first and budget with the rest. Paid half the debts and will pay the other half next payday as I get paid fortnightly. Will put aside car insurance money in an unused bank account to avoid the temptation of spending it.
• All monetary outgoings are to be accounted for. Currently out of love with YNAB so still in search of a budgeting app that works for me. Will report my spends on here if that's OK -- you can keep me honest and feel free to scold if I'm being too frivolous
• Utilise any random food left in cupboards. Make a list for a bigger shop and don’t go shopping hungry I do do this, but not as much as I should. Went shopping in Asda today and kept saying "this would be cheaper in Aldi/Lidl" :rotfl: Most of the YS bargains contained meat unfortunately but did snag myself a couple
• Batch cooking is encouraged I've been meaning to batch cook more so will try to cook as much as possible
• No foods are to be purchased at work canteens / cafes etc. this will be hard but I will do my best
• Only supermarket own brands are encouraged. This is already my mentality, though there are some things I don't like to compromise on eg mayonnaise, cheese pizza (veggie pizzas are own brand but not found an own brand cheese I love), Quorn. I think it's a case of striking a balance between saving money and actually liking what you eat
• No non-essential beauty items are to be purchased. Use up everything you have in the house before ANY purchases. Stocked up on shampoo and conditioner when it was on offer so won't need more. Have been using unused body lotions as bubble bath.
• Beauty purchases are to remain under £5 for the month. Done.
• Try and eat at least one frog this month, a giant one My giant frog is to deal with the car insurance of the muppet who bumped my car last month. Must do this tomorrow. Smaller frogs include dental visit, sorting out new car insurance, socialising more.
• And last but not least: Combat overwhelmed. Will try to make a to-do list at the weekend.
