Wotcha TOG :hello: I'm here too this month.

I ate a massive cane toad yesterday. I finalised my contents claim following the flood back in December. O. M. G. Fingers crossed that my insurers can agree it...

Off for a picnic in the park with friends today, which is fairly :money: but I do have to pay for parking, so not a NSD sadly.

Fmess- I'm exactly the same as u. I need at least 8 hours a night, sometimes more. I wish I was one of these people that only needed 6 I'd get so much more done.

Yesterday was a spend day and I'm expecting today to b too. Half term is near on impossible to b nsd but I'm hoping I can still get 20 nsd once normal term time resumes.

It's absolutely beautiful here, currently sitting in the garden with a coffee enjoying the view. Definitely a bit of sunbathing on the cards later :D

So yesterday I spent £5.65 on coffee and a snack in the cafe on the boat home and it was well worth being on the naughty step for ;). I also bought the last of the wedding present.

Today should be a NSD, getting my nails done (my mum's treat), the rehearsal and then visiting a friend is all that's planned for today.

Well, that all sounds like a good start to the month.

Quick question. Today is an especially bad day in terms of feeling bleu, overwhelmed and stuck in a hamster wheel. Plus the thought of going home from work doesn't cheer me up either as it just means kids, lunches, dinner, washing etc.
Now I usually go to bed at 10pm, habit from when DD would wake up during the night to ensure I got enough sleep. Now she often sleeps through or I get at least 8-9 hours which i almost think is too much and adds to the feeling "there aren't enough hours in the day" as I sleep too many of them.

How many hours sleep do you get (because you want to, have no other option etc) and is it enough?

Interestingly just found an article on BBc that says the ideal number of hours is 7.

    Thanks

I am an early to bed, early to rise person - in the summer I am usually up by 5am:eek:
I would say that I get between 8 - 9.5hrs sleep every night and I find this is enough - sometimes I am in bed by 9.30pm but that's fine by me.

7hrs is ideal:eek: - I want and need more than that.

Thrifty, I have been feeling 'off' this week as well, I am a naturally positive person but this week is awful. DH (who has depression ) is also struggling this week but felt better when I told him how I feel. I'm not sure if it's because of the bank holiday and knowing that I have loads to do in the garden and I could be doing that or if the weather is so pants for June that it's putting a dampner on everything.

I am going to review after the weekend as should warm up then and hopefully my mood will disappear.

Reporting in with a NSD yesterday.

Can't post at home as my IP address has been banned on here - have emailed so should be sorted soon.

Today will be a spend day, DD is being measured for a bra - she has been wearing teenage bras for a while but I have now decided the time is right for her to be measured so this is going to be spendy.
Also need to get her a smartish outfit for a Christening at the weekend.

    Good morning,

glad so see some familiar faces (well names) rejoin us. Welcome back.

Didn't take my antihistamine yesterday and "only" slept from 11pm to 6:30. Feel better for it. Will experiment a bit.

Hopefully another SFD today. We have glorious weather here to. Going to work should be illegal if it is above C15 and sunny ;)Eager_Elephant hope you and your husband feel better soon too. Definitely seems to be the week for it.

    NSK are you there?

  • Morning Everyone!
First day of the June challenge went well - NSD for me :)
And although I didn't take my lunch to work I didn't buy any either lol so am recording it as a "lunch to work" success too.
Wish it was warm and sunny here...London is grey and windy :(

    Well HELLO to you all!

My goodness it is SO cold here in Australia.

So where to start. For those who do not know me I have debt busted my way to freedom and am on the road travelling somewhat. I have accrued some debt due to decisions made while out and about and shall therefore explain.

I have managed to get through a few countries; Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, Philippines, New Zealand and obviously Australia.

Not everything has gone to plan, payments on my credit card weren't cleared when they should have been, I added 2 more countries to my itinerary before Australia and so the money was paid off by my lovely boyfriend with the intention to pay him back when I got to Sydney and he joined me.

    BUT...

We decided to walk the length of New Zealand instead. To take us 5 months from one end to the other. We didn't make it, said boyfriend realised very quickly he is not as outdoorsy orientated as me. He quit, we were a team, so I had to quit. With much, and still raw regret from him especially.

I had worked solid as a Traffic Controller in Sydney for 6 months - getting up at 0400 every morning and not getting home sometimes until 2200. For weeks at a time. It was exhausting but I was SO excited to get rid of everything I had collated and live literally out of a rucksack, cook my own food on a little stove and sleep in a tent. be out in the woods and living raw.

Flights, lightweight items, equipments, spares, and preparation like navigation courses (to be safe) cost me $7000. Needless to say paying back my boyfriend didn't happen when it should have.

Fast forward to the end of New Zealand I went to see friends in the Philippines on my own (more flights) and for a month my darling friend would not allow me to pay for anything, then back to Australia but this time I am in Melbourne. It took a month to find a job.

My CC got maxed again, from having to buy work clothes (I have so few I look like a bag lady but you need some right?), food, and paying rent.

My boyfriend was with me here in Melbourne but has gone home now to the UK as he has to return to work. He is not in a rush to get his money back - but I am in a rush to get rid of it.

I have £750 / $1450 left to pay on my CC. I have $1100 stashed. The rest will be added next week and transferred on Tuesday next week to my UK account. It clears in 24 hours so my CC will be no more by this time next week.

The big payments to follow that would be £1620 / $3245. The most I can put towards the debt is $630 a week. That would clean me out. So I will aim for 6 payments of $600 and 1 payment of $245.

That means a DFD of 19th July. A week later than I hoped. SO next week when I stash away $350 for the last of my CC payments, I could also stash that $245 to ensure my DFD is the 12th July.

Yup thats how I will do it.

So there you go. Thow'in all at it again just like last time. My escape? I have taught myself how to knit, I will also be starting ballet lessons the week of my DFD hence I need to stay on target. It will cost me $480 for ten weeks. A dream come true.

Travel wise. I am not ready to stop yet.

    :T:T:T

Wow NSK, what an adventure, financially and from a life point of view. Gosh, yea keep going if you can. I would.

Are jobs pretty well paid over there? Or how can you clear $650 (I guess about £300) a week. Do you actually live in a tent while working to save money and I hope you eat properly ;).
