Yes technically you could use your bag for life in any supermarket but it's not going to go down very well when you're in Tesco and suddenly pull out a load of bright orange bags advertising Sainsburys is it!

What do you think will happen? I'll tell you, absolutely nothing!

There is no "technically" about it.
There is no legal or logical reason why you couldn't use a Lidl bag in Harrods or a Harrods bag in Tesco.
Do you really think that the check out staff have nothing better to do than to check the name on the side of every customer's carrier bags?

I have been reusing my bags for years before the 5p charge and have never had any negative reaction. Anyway, now I have a very smart set of fold-up bags I bought from Lakeland when they were on offer. I expect they will outlive me!

Why don't you just say what your experience was?
I don't like morning people. Or mornings. Or people.

On a side note, Harrods don't charge for their bags, they don't have to since their bags are more than 70 microns thick.

Probably because you made a massive issue of it anyway. Even if you think you didn't tutting and rolling eyes etc counts!

Who really cares. Not me and certainly not the manager of the supermarket nor any other customers. The managers and staff are just glad you're in their supermarket at all they do not care what bag you have.
