Yes technically you could use your bag for life in any supermarket
There is no "technically" about it.
There is no legal or logical reason why you couldn't use a Lidl bag in Harrods or a Harrods bag in Tesco.
Do you really think that the check out staff have nothing better to do than to check the name on the side of every customer's carrier bags?0 -
Yes technically you could use your bag for life in any supermarket but it's not going to go down very well when you're in Tesco and suddenly pull out a load of bright orange bags advertising Sainsburys is it!
I have been reusing my bags for years before the 5p charge and have never had any negative reaction. Anyway, now I have a very smart set of fold-up bags I bought from Lakeland when they were on offer. I expect they will outlive me!0 -

On a side note, Harrods don't charge for their bags, they don't have to since their bags are more than 70 microns thick.
