I'm still confused. I said "will not qualify" and you said "yes they will qualify". Sorry if I have lost the plot.

Do exactly as you have been doing on all other interest bearing accounts with the same/similar criteria and you will be fine.

Thanks Dobbibill for the straightforward answer. YB, us Londoners have always thought that you guys up north had no sense of humour.

Presumably you only put less than £10 a month as you could do internal transfer on monthly basis to your Tesco Current A/C paying 3%.

I wonder why you bother to close an account and open a new one if the interest difference is so tiny of just 0.4% pa with such a tiny amount of money, is it not better to have both of them so you will have two source of DDs instead of one ??

This is not a critique just try to understand / learn as I might have been missing something thus missing an opportunity ...

I already have the Instant access account, its was the internet saver one that changed its interest rate, as the bonus is just for a year, so when it ended the rate dropped to 0.25 so I opened up the account again and closed down the one that had just ended.

I have both account to service my bank accounts, I just don't need two instant access accounts, as all the funds that come into the account get either back to where it came from, or into the Tesco current account to build up till the next regular saver needs funding.

Each account gets £70 each month, due to the accounts I have linked to each one.

I have a Tesco Internet Saver so that I can DD from Lloyds. I now have 3 BoS accounts as well, so I'm faced with finding 6 more DDs.

Anyone know how many DDs you can have on a Tesco Internet Saver?

I realise I could open more Internet Savers so I'll probably end up doing that too.

My wife already has 3 Internet Savers and she has 3 BoS accounts of her own. There must be a limit on the number of Internet Savers you can have, yes?

I was told by Tesco adviser when i called you can have as many DD's as you like coming out of that account.

Ive set my Tesco internet saver to DD from the 3 BOS accounts and opened a Tesco instant saver to do the same so thats the 6 DD's covered :T*

Couldn't get an answer to find out if 6 DD's from same Tesco Internet Saver would fill the criteria for the BOS account so did it the other way as above*

Why do you think there is a limit on how many DDs are allowed?

Because back when they were first introduced by Tesco, and people (like myself) were using them to satisfy Lloyds Vantage DD requirements (remember them?), I vaguely remember there being a limit of 2 DDs, but I could be wrong. This was still really good news at the time because some other savings accounts e.g. Post Office I think, only allowed a DD from one source. That's what made the Tesco accounts so attractive.

My two tesco accounts have seven DD on each.

    Lloyds
    Halifax 1
    Halifax 2
    Halifax 3
    Coop
    BOS
    Barclays.

I dont think there is a limit, as there are DD on there that are not currently active, as I have swopped them for CC DD instead.

I have 2x Vantage accounts max out so went to open a 3rd one yesterday and was told that I will have to set up 2xDDs each before September.
I don’t have any DDs going out so i will have to close the accounts and move on

Is there any other current account which gives good interest without DDs?

    Thank you

Open Tesco Internet Saver and Instant Access, you can then set up DD's from BOS, this could be the interest split into 2 different amounts.

Plenty about this in this thread.
