Thanks for that. I'm sorted then.

Direct Debits set up with Tesco Instant Saver & Tesco Instant Access Saver for 5 Bank of Scotland accounts.

Received 10 letters from Tesco, have checked BOS accounts can see 2 direct debits set up for each account.

Just need to check that all activate on 1st July.
  • This is getting more & more faffy. I'm on the verge of saying sod it & sticking the lot in a standard savings account.

But then that'd be giving up quite a wedge per year.

I'm fairly sure when i had to do this for another account (i forget which) i set up a Tesco internet saver & a Tesco Instant access direct debit on it.

But because they were both from Tesco it didn't qualify as 2 different.

Like i said, i'm only fairly sure. It was a few years ago now so i'm happy to hold my hands up & say i'm wrong on that one.

Can anyone confirm or otherwise that situation?

Isn't there more than enough confirmation already in the thread?...the most recent of which is in the post just before yours and made only 4 hours ago!

Sorry but i don't see any confirmation.

Only that someone set up some direct debits.

NOT that they actually qualified that person for the interest.

If i remember right (& again, i may not - that's why i'm here posting this) mine also showed up. But they didn't qualify me for the interest because they were both from Tesco. So i had to switch it out & do 1 Tesco & 1 Nationwide MySave for example.

I use a Tesco Internet Saver and a Tesco Instant Access Saver - this gives two separate DDs.

Well you won't see any "confirmation" of interest paid yet will you, bearing in mind that it comes into play in September, for interest payable in October. But since it works for other banks in the group it will also work with BoS.

What you will see, if you take the trouble to read more than the thread title/first post, is that people are reporting 2 separate DDIs showing in online banking. Indeed, the last post before yours clearly says that 2 DDIs are showing on each account.

2 x Tesco DD work for my two Halifax accounts, and Lloyds, and I have set the same two up for BOS to go out next month. (all LBG)

All will be okay as long as they both show as separate DD on your DD list.

You are right that one bank refused two direct debits from Tesco internet saver and Tesco Instant saver a while ago, it happened to me, think it may have been Lloyds, but not sure.

However BOS have accepted both Tesco direct debits for each of my 5 accounts all showing separate reference numbers so should be okay.

Will know for sure on July 1st when all 10 should take £1 to Tesco accounts.

I would suggest to make the DDs look legitimate...making them for more than £1 and for differing amounts?

For example if I earn £16 interest from one account...and need to have two DDs I would do set up the following to shave off this payment...

    DD1 £7.50
    DD2 £8.50

Another reason for the different amounts is that it makes it easier to check if they have been sent/from - recieved/to accounts.

Imagine if you had a number of £1s coming in...but one was missing where would you start to look for it?

Just my way of doing it...thought I would share.
