I have 2x Vantage accounts max out so went to open a 3rd one yesterday and was told that I will have to set up 2xDDs each before September.
I don’t have any DDs going out so i will have to close the accounts and move on

Is there any other current account which gives good interest without DDs?

    Thank you

I'm thinking of opening a second Vantage account.

Do BOS care where the monthly funding for the vantage account comes from?

Ideally I would bounce the monthly money between the 2 Vantage accounts rather than feed it from a source outside BOS.

Not at the moment - of course, this might change as the DD requirement is changing.

I have 2x vantage account and I will close one before September.
So can I use the vantage account which I’m thinking of closing to switch to other bank like HSBC or first direct to get the switch over money?
The account I’m thinking of closing is not my main account will that be ok?
What happens if you push this button?

Yes, it's a normal current account so you can switch as you wish.

You will need to meet the requirements of the bank you're switching to for any incentives, such as direct debits, pay in value per month etc

I set up a DD with my Tesco savings a/c to pull money from husbands BoS a/c worked just fine for ages. Probably shouldn't have tried to set up another one from his 2nd BoS though - that's when Tesco blocked it & asked questions.

Oops, not supposed to set up DDs to pull dosh in from someone else's a/c so they cancelled both. They haven't noticed (yet) that I'm still doing it from his Santander a/c.

Had to open an internet saver in his own right now, & probably a second one to operate the 2nd DD requirement. Appreciate the 'heads up' so I can organise myself (well, him).
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

Same here. I was surprised when they accepted it years' ago, but failed this time so had to open Instant Access accounts too.

In view of the activity on this thread and others similar, does anyone agree that the next course of action will be

    1. Tesco stops accepting DDs to their savings accounts. or

    2 BOS, change their T &Cs again

If BOS were trying to limit the number of accounts being used as saving accounts only, then if the forum is representative of BOS customers I think. they have failed.

As far as Tesco goes the fees that they will have to pay because of the increase in DDs must be substantial, and it must just be a matter of time before their finance directors' attention is drawn to that.

If as bank needs to read forums such as this to find out what is happening with their own accounts then they shouldn't be in business.

I suspect very little has escaped their attention.
