Bank of Scotland Vantage needs 2 dds

The bottom level account you should be offered by bos, given that you already have an account and so wouldn't normally be offered a basic account, is likely to be a classic.
If you ring them you may well be offered a classic account to which they'll add vantage if you request it.
This is what happened to me and I can't recall being declined for bank accounts or credit cards for many years just seems a quirk of their systems.
It'll cost you twenty minutes on the phone, if that is too much for the £12 a month interest you could earn then that's a personal choice.0 -

But back to the topic in hand...from experience, an 'income' from employment is not a prerequisite to grabbing a brace or more of BoS Vantage accounts. So, fancy trying again by phone?0 -
The account name is BOS Basic Acct. It informed me I had been declined and offered the basic, I thought I'd be able to upgrade later down the line so accepted, sadly there's no option to upgrade online. I've been declined before, many years ago, by Halifax, and again they offered a bottom rung account - I was an employed recent graduate with paid off student overdraft, I've enjoyed a long relationship with HSBC instead. I may call to open more accounts when needed but I've opened a lot of accounts in my husband's name or joint with higher rates - 2 TSB, 2 Lloyds, 3 Nationwide, plus the 2 BoS, 1 Santander and 1 Tesco. I could ditch the Santander and fill two more BoS and the new Tesco acc.
I guess the incentive to open the BoS now is in case they reduce the number you can hold in future. Can you leave them empty if not yet needed, I presume the DD requirement is to get the interest payment.0 -

Are you maxing out all the regular savers from the providers you've listed above? They'll take up to £2,700 a month between you. Consider getting the cash intended for BoS in those instead.0 -
Initially thought sod it, but had a tesco account and took about 30 minutes to apply for the two saving accounts with tesco and set up 2 direct debits for each of the BOS accounts.
Handy really as It will get a little interest on the interest that is debited across.0 -
Besides Tesco bank is there any other way one can set up 2 DDs?
What happens if you push this button?0 -

In the time it took you asking the same question several times, and ignoring the answer you have already been given, couldn't you have sorted out your ID verification with Tesco.0
