Thanks, I had seen the tariff page but wasn't sure the "tracker rate" was the latest dynamic rate. Is it? I've actually switched onto tracker. The welcome pack gives me my standing charge but not the unit rate. I'm aware it dynamically changes but i just wanted to know what it was today for my information really. Its not too difficult a question for customer services. I was given an excuse that not many people are on tracker, which didn't make sense as to why he couldn't go on their system and just look at the price in my postcode area today.

Maybe was expecting more....but this was symbio levels of customer service rather than the supposed octopus!

I had deduced that the "real time" prices were those shown on

and
https://octopus.energy/tracker-demo-detail/?context=1&code=G-1R-SILVER-2017-1-C&consumption=12000&type=gas&inapp=false
for electricity and gas respectively (though I don't understand how they have worked out the lump sums)
If this is incorrect I hope someone will point this out ASAP since all my calculations about switching to Tracker have been based on these pages from the Tracker "demo".

On account dashboard which I dont think someone can see fully until switch completes forthcoming day kwh rate is shown from midnight, on list of tariffs current days tracker tariff rate updates sometime during each day--current rate on tariff list is todays rate

Would you be able to confirm if what you are referring to corresponds to what is shown in the two links that I posted at 1.30 pm? Even if there is a day's time differential / lag.

I am guessing figures within those links are for illustration purposes and do not refer to any particular person, only figure I can  correlate with is Standing Charge 15.09 on second link which would be my gas standing charge ( I dont have gas with Octopus) seemingly a common tracker gas standing charge rate

They are just demo figures. The tariffs in the URLs are for London. For the actual figures for your region, enter your postcode on the tariff page and scroll all the way down to Tracker.

Confusing but it looks like I was wrong. Is the tariff page updated daily in the case of Tracker?

Actually, to be more precise, they are the correct data for the London region. To get the data for your region, substitute the 'C' in G-1R-SILVER-2017-1-C with the letter that corresponds to your region:
