Thank you for that very helpful suggestion, bristolleedsfan.  I have never used Twitter but I'm going to look into it now and your screenshot  is much appreciated.

You can email them, reason I suggested DM via Twitter is fastest way to get a response and many people are not getting email replies, very quick to create a Twitter account :) Tariff in screenshot based on my regions SC Dual Fuel is about £26 per year cheaper + Electricity - 1p per kwh cheaper than what renewal quote would have been.

I am in the same situation myself.  I think that there is general agreement that prices now have risen compared with a year ago. The advantage with Octopus and a few others is that it is possible to change tariffs without incurring an exit fee if the situation changes. I have been seriously considering switching to their Tracker tariff which is as competitive as many on offer at present. It is however more complicated and this could cause problems considering Octopus' recent deterioration in customer service and response capabilities.

The tariffs shown in the screenshot come from what I believe is a long list of "current" tariffs of which by now many are "historic".including some "out of contract" tariffs and some going back to  2018. It looks like the list has not been updated for some time and I suspect that the choice is in practice restricted to what one is offered (for me just 3) when asking for a quote. I would be interested to know if this is in fact the case.

No, they have a seperate list for historical tarffs, tariff listings are updated up until sometime last week when they introduced slightly more expensive tariffs via comparison sites which have not fully reflected within current/historical tariff listings

There is indeed a separate list of "historical" tariffs but it is hard to imagine that all the tariffs in the "current" list are in fact current and available to new subscribers. And if they are available, how one gets the tariff in question.

All customers can ask to change to any tariff on current tariff listing by contacting Octopus by Email or Twitter Direct Message

That's why he suggested a Twitter DM. They usually respond in an hour or two to me. I've successfully switched to their cheap uSwitch tariff in the past, even though it was quite far down their 'current' list.

This must be due to expire shortly I guess.  Also it is for Eco 7 customers.

TheTariff called  Eco 7 Electricity is most certainly for Eco 7 customers, the tariff underneath is standard 1 rate electricity tariff
