It's very easy to say 'I have self-control' when you're sat in front of a screen posting to random strangers on t'internet.

I suspect it's probably a totally different kettle of fish when you're sat on the sofa - having ejected husband from the house - and are watching a dvd with someone you are attracted to.

But good luck with whatever you decide to do - and with dealing with any fall-out afterwards.

Especially if the DVD is a bit romantic!

Does that still apply when one of the 'happily attached' people have an admitted attraction to a 3rd party?

    'courting'.
What a quaint term. I've not heard that for years.

Even when one party specifically wants to be alone with the "friend"?

It is not like that I don't like it with any of my friends as you dont get quality time.
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

    Yawn....

Could we not just fast forward to the part where the OP admits to cuddling up on the sofa with her new best 'friend' and losing her self control?

We all know that's what's going to happen.

I am starting to think guy at work friend would think it was decidedly weird if you were to invite him round to watch a DVD and politely decline anyway. What with him being a friend and all, he would probably be able to see the line that you are trying to cross and keep you at arms length.....

Do you live in a bedsit?

I can't grasp your requirement for your husband to not be in the house when you have friends over to satisfy your need for 'quality time' with them.

I can be alone with him and exercise self control.
But why put yourself in that position when you need to exercise self control the whole time?
Why not spend your time with either your husband or friends who you don't find attractive?
