It went back for years... when they combined endless new threads on Vodafone they started in January.
  • I phone retentions last week and requested to speak to outbound team. Advised that I needed to make a decision within next 24 hours re contract and wanted to stay with EE But as retentions couldn't offer me anything that I was interested in I wanted to speak to outbound team as a last option before going elsewhere (already had pac). Guy from retentions said I can't transfer but I will walk access office and put note on outbound team members desk to call you. They called 20 min later, saved me £200 from what offer from retentions was so I renewed there and then.

I have just come off the phone to EE retentions with what I think is an excellent deal.

I was on a £30 a month contract with a Galaxy 5, 1gb, 1000 minutes and unlimited texts on 4G. I am still quite content with the phone (not an EE firmware version and now on 6.0.1) so wanted sim only.

I was given 2gb with unlimited minutes and texts for £7.99 a month on a 12 month contract.

Assuming this is what actually comes (the EE online shows £17.99 pm so I rang again to check as there are many stories about verbal offers not being honoured!). I was told, by a different operator, that my account showed I had a £10pm discount and it will show online within @24hours.

Time will tell but on the face of it a happy bunny.

I also wangled £10 loyalty discount on my existing EE contract after ringing up and complaining that I was paying too much, I didn't even really threaten to leave.

Mine is up for renewal next month and I was offered a new iPhone SE for £45 a month 10GB data unlimited mins/texts....seemed like quite a good deal until I noticed on their website that that is their standard offering for all EE customers so I plan to ring to see if I can get a new contract but keep my £10 discount.

    Hi,

My daughters phone contract is coming up for renewal and I have been offered the following upgrade/retention deals would like some advice on what others have been offered, if this is a good deal, and if anyone has got any better deals.

    iPhone 5s
    £18.14 per month
1000 mins, unlimited texts and 2gb data
    free phone

    iPhone 6
Unlimited Mins, Unlimited Texts & 2gb data
    £23.44 per month
    Free phone

Both from EE upgrades/retentions and both are for 16gb model.

Well, the minutes and data are about £17.99 a month (though retentions offered me sim only at £7.99pm for a 12 month contract) At £7.99pm that leaves the phone worth £15.45 pm or £370.80 over a 24 month contract for the IPhone 6.

Apple show the IPhone 6 at from £459 so on the face of it sounds a good deal?
  • Have been with orange/ee for 25 odd years and decided that it was time for upgrade so off i go to upgrade and ask for deal for samsung s6.
After a lot of faffing about and sharp intakes of breath from cust serv rep decided that he could'nt help as i dont use my mobile a lot. The reason being that i had a company mobile and used that all the time which i explained to him, another sharp intake of breath from him and then he says i cant get a deal for you i'll put you through to retentions.
Get told by retentions you have been with us 25years lets see what deal i can get you for your samsung. Then it starts oh you dont use your phone enough...here we go explain reason why and say that have got quote from Virgin £22 pm and no upfront payment . The reply was cant get anywhere near that even if you have been loyal us for all these years. Then the attitude changed and i got asked would i like a PAC code coz i aint going to help you. I replied to this as to right bring it on. Am now with Virgin and a nice S6.
No wonder EE are bottom of pile.

It's just business - nothing personal.

Your level of usage obviously meant they'd make very little profit so they had every right to make an offer based on their business model... and you had every right to shop around.

    I don't understand the issue.
    :hello:
  • 1.00pm today guy from EE rings and offers me any deal i want for s6 as i am loyal cust and they dont want to lose me as i am paying 40.00 a month for 2 phones from them.

I replied its the loyalty factor that was not being factored in not the profit margin which he agreed and offered the same deal as Virgin which i refused on principle.

3.00pm another guy from EE calls saying we dont want you to leave i will even undercut Virgin by £2.00 as your loyalty is paramount to us.
I still refused and told him EE had there chance at retentions which he agreed they did but it was his job to retain me.

After a pleasant 10mins of chat instigated by him he came up with the offer any mobile i want even s7 edge for £20.00 a month and gave me the option of sleeping on the offer and to email him Friday
with a decision and they will give me whatever i want.

They seem now to think loyalty counts:T
