we have given up with the old estate agent and TW have since sold our plot that we had reserved.

new plan is to withdraw completely, spend the next few days blitzing the house, cleaning carpets etc and advertise with a new EA next week. Hoping to get some good luck eventually but it is looking ever so unlikely that we will get moved before xmas
  • Well a week ago we had an offer of 195k on the table (we are on at offers over 190k) but we went back to them with a counter offer of 197k and havent heard back since.

Yesterday the EA contacted my wife and another potential buyer has offered 198k which we are accepting subject to a time frame !

    well happy.

So excited! E a has sent it out to solicitors, now what? Do I need to change threads :)
  • Congrats to all that have sold. It is such a stressful process. I always come back in to check how everyone is doing. Dr Gonzo, I really feel for you...2.5 months is NOT ages away and I would certainly be happy to wait.

Hope it sells quickly for you....

Glad many of you have sold recently.

I have had someone request a second viewing of my place with their partner so lets hope that is a strong sign there may be an offer on the way.
  • Cheers for that, we have 4 more viewings over the weekend, hopefully, 3 of those are piggy backing on a viewing they have booked with the same EA for a similar house on the same street as ours which went on the market two days after we "sold".

Fingers crossed something will come of these viewings, but hopefully after the Bank Holiday things will pick up even more.

Meeting with the barrett homes rep tonight to talk through this new build, still interested in it, and he is aware we aren't in a position to reserve it just yet.
  • 4 viewings over the weekend is super promising. Good Luck.

2nd viewings are a positive pself...it means they are considering it. Fingers crossed.
  • May I join, please? :)

Our house went up for sale today. We have a reservation on a new build home and are selling through the movemaker scheme. The first estate agent came in to take pics and measurements today and the other, followed by the EPC/Floorplan bloke will be here tomorrow. It's already up on the website and the boards should be up within the next day or two. Fingers and toes (plus any other spare appendages) firmly crossed for a quick, full asking price offer very shortly!!

This is the first time we've sold and I'm pretty nervous about it all, to be honest. We've been here for 17 years and for the first time, in all that time, the entire house is clean, decorated and tidy! Now to keep it that way... (please wish me luck on that front, as I have 2 [STRIKE]mess-makers [/STRIKE] kids!)

@Bonfire Bride Thanks for the encouragement, I knew moving house was stressful etc but I never imagined the selling bit being like this, having only bought this one and never sold before.

@VultureDodger I can only imagine what its like with kids in the house, but the selling things is definitely good for you in terms of a bit of a clearout and tidying and cleaning. I just keep finding more things I can do now each day to make it that little bit clearer/more empty at the moment. I miss having some of my things around but it does feel bigger.
