I haven't been on this thread for a long time.
4 viewings last week - 2 no shows. The other 2 have dissapeared off the planet.
One viewing booked for Saturday now. Hoping we get another during the week. We went to view a property last week and would put an offer in immediately if we sold.
Brexit appears to have slowed things down in my area. A few houses that had sold are now popping back up on rightmove. Could be a coincidence but people are jittery x0 -
I agree, no viewings here in about 10 days... think all due to referendum. Waiting and seeing, as we've already bought our new house (awaiting exchange in a week or two), so I fear we won't gain a drop in the new house price, but may have to drop the price of this one to sell... damn referendums!First win (October) - Apple Ipod off a radio competition
November - new nokia mobile phone, £250 electrical voucher (both radio comptitions)
March - 2 cinema tickets to see 27 dresses (radio again!)

Hi All, can I join you please?
We are putting our house on the market this week after living there happily for the last 13 years. We have a half share in a larger property which we are going to move into and buy the other party out. Our house is homely, fairly well decorated but cluttered and comfortable and I am already stressing to the high heavens about Agents photos and viewings. We have decluttered, a lot, but I am really struggling to get everyone into the mindset that the house needs to look tidy and organised at all times, as fast as I tidy an area someone comes along and messes it up again!
There have been several houses in our road sold recently, the last one sold in a bout a week and I am worried we have 'missed the boat' and everyone who wants our road has now bought! On a plus side we have stunning views from our huge decking area and a large terraced lawn with further vegetable gardens and a large shed but there are lots of little DIY jobs that need doing and I'm not sure DH will get them all done in time, we have been working on it for the last couple of weeks and cant delay marketing it any longer.
I love our house but its not a show home and I am worried about people not seeing the potential or making snide comments! Fingers crossed the valuation and photos go well on Thursday!

3 kids, is there any chance of you moving into the other house whilst you try and sell this one? We had to move between two houses (we each owned before we met), the sale fell through on the one we were selling, so we moved into the other with minimal stuff to tide us over. Slept on an airbed, had garden furniture in the dining room, left the other house largely furnished. This had the effect of being able to get it to show house standards, with nobody to mess it up. A friend house-sat for us a couple of nights a week just to keep an eye on the place whilst it sold as it was a good distance from where we'd moved to. It also meant we didn't get stupid 'they're desperate to sell' offers which I think we would have done if it was empty.Make £2025 in 2025

Hi Slinky,
I guess it would be an option, not really thought about it tbh. We had said about moving in before buying out the other party if we got a quick buyer before probate had been dealt with.
I'm a little bit hesitant as DH is already heavily emotionally invested in the new property and I am worried that if we live there and then for some reason we cant proceed it will make it even worse for him.
I will seriously consider it though if we can't keep the house up to scratch.
Thank you for the suggestion

well after the 2 disappointments from a few weeks back, and no apparent new interest, we had a viewing on saturday. I had to show the couple round (ftb who brought parents), seemed very very keen but wanted to go away and check finances. Had a call today from EA to say someone else was driving round the area and spotted our house for sale, so they are going for a viewing this afternoon!
Just wish I had tidied up this morning before work. House not a mess, but rubbish needed taking out, beds emptying etc0 -
House went on the market last week, only one viewing so far. Looks like this is going to take a while.Retired at age 56 after having "light bulb moment" due to reading MSE and its forums.
