Well we've had 24 hours of drama...

OMG what a nightmare! Try to look on the bright side - for whatever reason, you weren't meant to buy it. And if you are, it'll fall through and maybe you'll get it at an even better price so the chain doesn't collapse.
Good luck!ameliarate wrote: »Hi just wondered if anyone can say whether in these days of internet searches it makes much difference which, if any, estate agent you use.
I have an inherited property up for sale at the moment. It is empty. Lovely house MASSIVE garden, but not many viewings in 4 months and no offers. I am pretty sure it is not priced too high, though could drop the price a little if necessary.
I'm at a 'who's gonna blink first' moment. Trying to get an offer accepted. The house needs a whole heap of work doing and we're up to our limit. They think they can squeeze another few grand out of me, but I'm not budging another £500 even. That's a carpet or wardrobe or two to me. Would rather wait for something more 'done' than spend more on this one. Such a shame - fingers crossed though. They may bend...

Prob is the price, but an empty property can look a tad unloved. The ones I've viewed before have taken a while to sell (inc the one I'm currently in). Does it have furniture in? Is it dated? Price is obviously the main factor - everything will sell at the right price. Feel free (if also feeling brave!) to put a link up for critique (will try to be kind, but can't speak for all!).
I'll give it a while longer then perhaps look at the price. thanks. We don't stop playing because we grow old; We grow old because we stop playing.0 -
Seems like I'm back to the "finding a buyer" stage.
With RM's new 14 week rule my property is now languishing almost at the bottom on the "date listed" search.0 -

Unless it's been "out" for at least 14 weeks it can't come back as a fresh listing.

Same question???
When searching, I start (every day!!) with a last 24 hours search, then when I do a full search I always sort by price. I've been looking so long I know what's been there a while anyway.
Is there a limit on the amount a house needs to be reduced before jumping back to the top? Just thinking that if you are in a position to, you could reduce it by the absolute minimum. I do think, if a house has been SSTC and then after a number of weeks falls through it should go back up the listings again, as 'new' to the market albeit for the second time round.0 -
The lady that viewed last Friday doesnt want our house - so disheartening!
Today i spent some time moving furniture in both the kids rooms and i think they look better/ bigger now. We've got another estate agent coming to take pictures next Tuesday to remarket the property so hopefully these small changes will make for better photos.
Bidding on Ebay for some cheap planters for out front - seen some cheap but nice flowers in Aldi to plant in them. Hoping itll brighten the dull front of house up!DFW Total £21,800 to clear by Dec 2022

Hi everyone, I've had our house on the market since March and still no luck! Was really expecting it to go quickly as it was only built 2 years ago!
We've dropped the price by 10k and put some work into the garden. Main feedback from viewers was that our living room wasn't big enough so we got rid of a sofa, which has really opened it up!
But still nothing, not had a single view since the beginning of the month.
Considering changing estate agents but wonder if it would really make a difference?~Good Luck Everyone~2014 Wins;

So after being on the market a little over a week we took it off again due to change in circumstances (possibility of redundancy). It will go back on eventually but not until we know where we stand financially. I'm disappointed we aren't moving at this time but also I'm glad this has come up before we were further into the process. Feeling a bit sad and apprehensive. But hey that's life!0
