Low reductions are not going to catch people`s attention, it has to be a chunk of money that stands out for them, and makes the competition look expensive, THEN the viewers will come.

Come on then Crashy, just how much of a reduction would it take for you to buy?

"Why shouldn`t a buyer change their mind, maybe they found a better/cheaper deal?"

Because they're buying a house, not taking a shirt back to Primark? Most people put an offer in on a property because they love it and are excited, not because they reasonably fancy it but will carry on looking the next day in case they find something better.

A flakey buyer is a flakey buyer. They don't need defending.

£5000 is quite a big reduction and could bring the price into the reach of a lot more buyers. Some of the houses on my shortlist only reduce by £1-2k and get sold soon after. I agree it wouldn't make much difference to high end London prices but most of us don't live there. I am looking at houses up to £85-90k, so £5k would be around 6%.

I'd also like to know this (I did ask on another thread, but never received a reply!)

Ooh, that is exciting, smallholdingsister! Will keep everything crossed for you :D

Was wondering how hazyjo is doing too......
Sooooooo sloooooooow! Ta for thinking of me!

Got a viewer this Friday - well, think I have. EA was gonna ring back after ringing to see if we were around, but I've not heard anything for about half an hour. So annoying. Scratch that - they just rang as I was typing haha. Yep, viewer on Friday.

Please keep everything crossed! She's got nothing to sell. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BUY MY HOUSE!!!!

Another house is back on in Leigh-on-Sea that we would LOVE to get. It has several compromises, but is lovely and the extras far outweigh the issues (like lack of parking which was top of our list and essential, and further to station - funny how you bend when you find something you love LOL). Let's hope it's fate!

Just spent a couple of nights in Leigh and absolutely loved it. Can't believe we might live there soon!

    Good luck all!
