Waiting for a buyer... Anyone want to join me?

Well, guess I can join this thread now. House went on the market yesterday - though the estate agent managed to squeeze in one viewing the evening before (and before we'd signed any paperwork !). Appeared on Rightmove this morning - four viewings booked in this afternoon apparently. Might be something to do with it being the only 3 bed house not STC on the market within a 1/4 mile radius. And no, we don't live in the middle of nowhere ...
Kind of hoping things slow down a bit - we've yet to find anything like what we're after, and the money from my Voluntary Severance isn't going to be coming until the end of June ...0 -
Hazyjo, good luck with the viewing on yours and hope you get the Leigh on Sea house!Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

"Why shouldn`t a buyer change their mind, maybe they found a better/cheaper deal?"
Because they're buying a house, not taking a shirt back to Primark? Most people put an offer in on a property because they love it and are excited, not because they reasonably fancy it but will carry on looking the next day in case they find something better.
A flakey buyer is a flakey buyer. They don't need defending.
So the biggest debt/financial commitment of most people`s lives is not worthy of very careful consideration and looking at all the options? Overpay for a shirt, not a house IMO.0 -

Ignoring our question again Crashy?
I was on this thread when it first started about a year ago.
Crashy came out of the woodwork around the referendum time.
If I had believed all he said my chain would have collapsed due to Brexit fears and I'd still be waiting for a buyer. It didn't, and I've been in my home almost eight months now.
I don't like the fact that he comes on to this thread to wind up people and appears to enjoy the frustration of others waiting for a buyer.
Sour grapes because he has nothing to sell? Surely not!
Good luck all!Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

I agree it wouldn't make much difference to high end London prices but most of us don't live there. I am looking at houses up to £85-90k, so £5k would be around 6%.
The house was up for £125,000 so thats a 4% reduction to £120,000 - Ive had a phone call for another viewing this weekend so its definitely grabbed someones attention!

Put him on your ignore list. I did it weeks ago and now only see his trolling nonsense when quoted only.0 -
We've had an (unacceptably low) offer on our house and while I was on the phone to the estate agent my husband received a call from our solicitor to say that our original buyer now wants to go ahead as he has had confirmation of his relocation being within commuting difference. Seems like a no-brainier to go with the original buyer but I feel really tentative about it!0
