The above were warped individuals. Marxism is a political philosophy. Two different things.
The fact that when you try and live by Marxist ideals you always end up with a tyrannical despot on charge I fear says something about the interaction between the human psyche and that system of government.I think....0 -
I confess to being a Guardian reading Cosmopolitan according to the Sky quiz. Who would have thought it?Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0

History would back up your point but I was merly saying that Marxism in itself was motivated by humanistic aims.....ie unfairness between the classes etc.something that can hardly be said about fascism which is much more based on a belief in racial superiority etc. Its too simplistic to say they are the same. For instance I know people who live a communal type life in Wales. They are practising Marxism in a sense on a small scale. Marxism is taught at university, I doubt that Mein Kampf is!0 -
Surprised you read a newspaper that is registered in a tax haven (Cayman Islands) to avoid UK taxes. Of course they are not breaking any laws.
We all have our crosses to bear........Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
On the other hand you will be all right whatever happens so are in a good position to think about what is best for the country as a whole in the long run and not just your own personal immediate benefit.
Turkeys don't vote for Xmas, and I'm no exception, but in any case, what I want for myself coincides with what I think is best for the economy.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Marx may not have been a Marx, but he thought he was laying out scientific theories about the inevitable development from capitalism to communist socialism.
He didn't claim to be motivated by humanistic aims: he considered that it was a scientific theory/fact and that change was inevitable due to natural laws.
History clearly shows Marx was wrong : sadly at huge cost of murdered people and ruined lives.0 -

perfectly happy for you to argue that Marxism is a load of unscientific nonsense : sadly it killed so many millions and ruined so many more lives.0 -

Sadly you're at least orders of magnitude out. Commies killed tens of millions by forced collectivism alone. That's before the Jews and racially 'incorrect' that were sent to work camps. Plus those that wanted simply to disagree with the rulers that were put to death or worked to death.
I'd be interested to know if there was a Communist country that didn't massacre it's own people.0
