Mine went up to 50% a few days before the end date

That's good to know, thanks. I will check now and then to see if it changes.
  • My Sky service ends this Friday and with now just three days to go the offer remains at 35%.

No calls or direct emails to persuade me to remain so far.

Looks like maybe they are not bothered about losing customers now.

They know that a lot of people are bluffing as they don't really want to leave, they just want the discount. Sky are calling their bluffs.

Sky know I'm not bluffing as I told them I've already signed up to BT so they aren't bothering with any offers for me. Hopefully they will come back in 12 monthsand make me a new customer offer.

They will definitely contact you after switching you off. Sit tight and don't go for the 35% offer. Wait until you get 50% or more. They would rather have you as a customer at a reduced subscription than not at all. At least that's what I tell myself lol.

    They don't always contact people.

I was not contacted the first time I cancelled and was switched off, two years ago, but was this time ,even before the notice period was up.

Perhaps not 100% of the time, but mostly they do.

They only contact customers who have agreed to marketing calls and E-Mails. So far from 100% will be contacted.

I was opted in and always have been. This was true for a number of people who said they'd had no offers.
  • Well, Sky ends tomorrow. No calls, no emails and pretty much no interest or attempt to persuade me to stay. Too late now anyway as I have bought a Humax PVR and will see how Freesat stacks up.

I don't expect to miss Sky much as 99% of what I did watch is still available on Freesat. I used to like Discovery etc but haven't found anything that wasn't a repeat for months now and if it improves I can still get a Now TV subscription. The only thing I would have missed with Sky was the record function but I hope that the new Humax box will sort that for me.

They may still contact you after switch off.

In other news, the offer on mysky has gone up to 50% off any package for a year. Amazing, when they wouldn't budge from 25% off for 9 months when I cancelled last week.

I'm not sure whether to take it, wait for a possible better offer, or get a humax and wean myself off Sky!
