What happens if you let the cancellation go through, as I was told by the agent when I cancelled that if I did not do something before the turn off date I would need to come back as a Sky q customer

...just another fear tactic -I was actually switched off from Thursday night and reconnected on Sunday am.after phone conversation- NEVER suggested that I couldn't restart my standard HD deal!
If they are going to try to force the upgrade path,I suspect that they will start with those who have the old SD boxes first. , but I haven't seen anyone else report the threat.:)

can I ask what happened to your recordings once your connection went off? Did you lose everything you had saved?

No -they are all still on the hard drive -you just can't access them without a live Sky account.:)

I can still view mine, though the first time I switch the box on it does not list any of the recorded programmes. But turn it off, then back on and the list is there and you can watch them. (Mine is all BBC/ITV. Not sure if Sky Atlantic recordings would still be there.)

  • While recordings from Freeview channels may not blocked after cancellation, subscription channel recordings are definitely unavailable..

...VERY surprised ;when my went off for a few days EVERYTHING on the planner was blocked including "The Missing" which is on BBC1 HD.
The crazy thing was, that I lost access to Catch up and the recorded programmes immediately but could still view all the Sky channels for ~ 36 hours til everything stopped working!:)
When I renegotiated a deal, everything came back almost instantly.
  • Sky ended on Monday, noticed MySky offer of 60% off so got onto live chat to check the offer. Just re-signed, or resigned! as the cricket starts tomorrow I couldn't hold out, lol! 60% discount for 12 months, off full tv package = £32/month plus £75 credit to my account plus rolling contract. Happy with that.

That's a superb deal considering you've only been off for a few days.

They must be starting to crumble with retention deals:) I got the 60% and rolling contract but no bill credit a week ago . I haven't got Cinema -wonder if that made a difference?
