Also from experience I try to not test until 5 days late for a couple of reasons....
    1) You could test too early and a pg won't show up
    2) It gets expensive because if you test at say 1 day late and get a neg but then AF still doesn't show up a day or 2 later you do another one. You could do 2 or 3 tests and get AF when all along for some reason AF was just going to be late. With the £1 this doesn't matter as much as they are so cheap.....mind you, it doesn't do much for your emotional well being.

Yeah I have a feeling i'll have to lock myself in a dark room for 5 days not to test lol!:rotfl:

OH brought me a pressie today, pack of 2 pregnancy tests and a babygrow, bless him!!:D

O and AF arrived today, i'm not really disappointed as it was a bit soon to be thinking I was pregnant and atleast it means I can start charting now!:T

I've only just found this thread, but am already on the TTC list on the pregnancy thread.

I initially got pregnant the first time I ever slept with OH back in 2006 (a drunken accident at the time!). Luckily we formed a relationship instead of a one night stand! Found out I was pregnant at 6 weeks (so OH and I had been together for 6 weeks) but unfortnately had a miscarriage at 11 weeks.

As OH and I hadn't been together long we decided to spend 2007 just the 2 of us and try for a baby in 2008 then more delays and we finally started trying at the end of April. My periods are never completely like clock work but I think I am currently 3/4 days late so fingers crossed! If no period by this time next week then I shall do a test :p Haven't told OH yet as I don't want him getting his hopes up (he wants a baby so so much!) Is that mean?

    Some advice please.
We will be TTC in about 6 months time (work precludes any earlier). What can I do to prepare myself for this? Apart from being scared stupid of not being able to conceive and how disapointed he would be if that happens I have an all out fear/hate/loathing of doctors which does not help. (plus bit of surprise when he said 2/3/4......)
I have started the process by finally going for a smear test (yes I know..... have a coloscopy now because of not going when I should have so got to get through that too) what else can I do preferabally (and i know its childish) without having to step foot near a Dr's.
I am vegan and slight for my height, I train/workout daily, barely drink and don't smoke any advice would really be appreicated if just to stop me spinning into a wild panic.
    Thank you
    Ps good luck to everyone

I certainly don't think it's mean. Not at all. You have to keep good communication open with your OH, but I personally don't think that there's any need to share every ache, strain and wonder with them. We have no option but to go through all these ups and downs, I don't see the harm in muting the roller coaster, so at least one person in the relationship has a chance of keeping a grip on sanity...:p

Angeleyes I too think my Ov is tomorrow and have tested past few days with a neg. I just hope tomorrow is the day, so I know I'm Ov.

Argh! I'm getting impatient......I did have a mirena coil in until last month. It was removed on the 16th April. Had my AF a few days later on 19th, and bled for 10 !!!!!!! days! Since then bf and I have been TTC. Its now 27 days later, I keep feeling sick, my boobs are swollen, lower back pain and tummy pain and haven't come on yet. Did a test yesterday, which came back as negative. Not really sure what my cycles are now, as I had coil in for 6 yrs, from what I remember I used to be on every 21 days. Am I just reading too much into things, or what?! Advice anyone please? Thanks xx

You may be experiencing phantom symptoms which sometimes happen when you are trying for a baby and getting a little to into it iykwim. Chll out a bit and enjoy trying!

If you still have symptoms in a week then take another test. Good luck.
