:o Took a test this morning, the positive line showed up straight away but then disappeared within 2 minutes:confused: (the test was one of those saver £1 ones) What does this mean? Anybody any experience?

Hmmm I have always been led to believe that a positive is definatly a positive and a negative could change! Ifswim!

To be on the safe side as you did use a cheapy I would do another test. You can pick up a tidy one for £5.

Good Luck , hope you get the result you want x

It sounds like a positive. I've never had any sort of line on a pregnancy test except when pregnant. I had the opposite problem - the line took ages to appear, outside the 10 minute window.

Definately go and get another test, at least then you can put your mind at ease. If you live near an Asda, their tests (a pack of two for £4) did the trick. They worked as they were supposed to.

    Good luck!

Did it say when to look at the test? As some I've used say don't read the result until 5 mins have passed as you might see an evaporation line.

The saver £1 tests say to read the results at 3 minutes. It also says a pos result can be read in under a minute depending in hCG levels. But honestly I wouldn't expect a pos to just disappear. Did the control line come up at all? (Thats the top one) I'm wondering if you had a faulty test strip.

I'd definately go and get another one (I have a predictor on standby :D ) and do it in the morning with your first pee.

    Good luck

    Fingers crossed for you miss_pink!

How soon would you ladies test if your cycle was a bit all over the place? I'm on day 42 now. Not feeling anything - none of the usual pre-AF symptoms. I'm trying to hold out to the end of the week as I've never had a cycle that long - my record is 43 days, but 28-35 is the norm.

Then again, I'm starting to get seriously hopeful ..........and the disappointment that usually follows is not good.

If normal cycles are 28-35 and you don't have 40+ cycles very often I'd test on day 40ish as I try to wait until I am 5 days late. If 40+ day cycles are not the norm but you have them quite often I'd add 5 to the record of 43.

    Hi & welcome!

As you have only just come off the pill I would say don't even think about what you are doing as making a baby when you make love, relax and enjoy it as much as you can. As soon as you start worrying about it, it becomes obsessive :D The only thing I would be doing at this early stage is recording your periods. Also a little depends on your age. If you are over 30 I'd say if you don't get pregnant in 12 months see your GP.

    Anyway, here's my advice.....

You can start TTC straightaway but doctors like you have had at least one AF (Aunt Flo, period) so they can work out expecting date.
The fab ladies on here advised me that the first day you get up with bleeding is the first day of your cycle. Any days previous you have been spotting don't count. Also if AF starts at say tea time this isn't counted either.
For example, monday-spotting, tues-spotting, tues nite AF proper, wed-wake up with AF. Wednesday is counted as the first day of your cycle. Your cycle is counted from first day of AF to the first day of next AF.

Once you know your cycle length you can use this calculator.....http://www.ovulation-calendar.net/ to work out roughly when you should ovulate the following month.

Personally I have been advised to make love every 2-3 days. Not everyday and not once a week :D

You don't really need to spend lots of money of pregnancy tests. I use ones from savers, they cost £1 each and have worked ok for me. Though I do have a predictor test on standby incase I don't believe the £1 one ;)
When my £1 tests have run out I am going to buy from accessdignostics. The more you buy the cheaper they are. Here's the site and a snapshot of prices http://www.accessdiagnostics.co.uk/acatalog/Early_home_pregnancy_test_offer.html

    2 Early Pregnancy Test @ £1.99
    5 Early Pregnancy Tests @ £2.29
    10 Early Pregnancy Tests @ £3.00
    20 Early Pregnancy Tests @ £5.00
    40 Early Pregnancy Tests @ £9.00
    80 Early Pregnancy Tests @ £17.49

That's about all I can think of at the moment but don't hesitate to ask any questions of any of us. They are a great bunch of women on here :j

I would always say though that if you are worried about anything at all you should see your GP.

Oh and if you already knew any of the above....ignore me :rotfl:

    Good luck and HTH

(Reading that back it seems a little jumbled but I'm sure you get the jist)
