  • Well as of today I am 16 days late for my AF. I have done 4 tests - the last one was 6 days ago - and all were BFN. I have had spotting every other day since last saturday but nowhere near enough to call AF. Gonna do another test tomorrow. Next AF is due 24th May so one way or another i'll hopefully know what is going on.
    Good luck all :)

This brings back memories, but before I had the pregnancy test, my taste buds went weird, from my dates i had concieved new years day, remember a week after new yr, went out on the town with my mate, we had worked over new yr, so we celebrated a week later, usual pints / shots etc, then for a curry, but for the life of me that night I just could not eat it, remember thinking it was a waste, then after I found out I was expecting, I went off cider, couldnt bear the stff, but craved bitter, it had to be Tetley Bitter! x

grandslamgirl, I agree with mum2one. With spotting and an AF thats over 2 weeks late I'd go to see my GP.

Thanks you so much for replying. I'll try that next time.

The first time we conceived was 2 months after coming off the pill and like you we weren't trying that hard, it just happened. No sticking pillows under butts or legs in the air :D
The second time (2 yrs later) was pretty much the same. We had just had the pressure lifted as we received an appointment with a fertility doc so stopped trying so hard then it just happened.
Its now been another 2 years (since 2nd mc and removal of cervix) and my consultant has said he is going to get in touch with fertility doc again so hopefully it might happen again itself!

Good Luck Shelly - I hope it all works out for you.

    Hiya,
Thanx Shelly and Mum2one, I have made an appointment at the docs for tomorrow. Hopefully he/she'll be able to shed some light on what's going on. No spotting today but another BFN :(
I know it's possible to get false negatives but i think there must be some explanation for my lack of AF.

AF was due on 16/17 so I took a wee test "just incase"... B!! F!! N!!

I was kind of expecting it, wish I had listened to Shelly and waited a few more days. The "not knowing" part the "am I or aren't I" feeling is a lot better than NO!!!!

At least I can dream about becoming a mum and all the things we will buy and places we can go as a family....but as soon as "not pregnant" appears all my dreams are shattered. My lovely hubby was fantastic and once I took the test revealed that he had bought two tests so if it did come up negative we could wait and retest in a couple of days. He is my rock!!!:A

:o Me again, sorry for being on a downer last night

Feeling a bit better this morning, still no sign of AF yet:confused: maybe she got lost

Don't have any symptoms at all, its so weird as I usually have a sore tummy the day before ....but nothing.

Is it possible just to miss a period and it returns the next month? Should I re-test or go to the docs or just ride it out?

Yes its possible to miss an AF altogether if you haven't ovulated that month. It has happened to me a few times in the time we have been TTC and that's the explanation I got when I asked my doc.
If it happens now I don't worry about it but if I missed 2 in a row I'd go to my doc's.

If you are worried go to your doc's for your own peace of mind.
Or does your surgery do call backs? Ask the doc for advice on the phone, saves making an appointment.
