skintbutsmiling, sorry to hear your bad news. Maybe this will mean that you can get straight on to the next steps of things now, at least you've done the tests and can start sorting things through now. Good luck with it.

redmel have you been on the pill since your last mc? I'm sure some ttc-ers with similar experiences will be along to advise soon.
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o
  • Skint I am so sorry to hear your news big :grouphug: to you. I'll keep my fingers crossed that things can get moving and, you get what you want after all.

    Hi jiblet

I didn't go on the pill for a year after the mc as had no period until 6mths after and then another one another 5mths after that so went on pill after that one. BUT it was a different pill to my usual one as the one i had been on for years started to send me psychotic!! doc thought it would be best for me to go on mini pill, but it doesn't regulate... I was getting bad pmt headaches so decided to stop taking it for a while 6mths to see if they improved?

They didn't really so I went back on it but came of it ttc last summer...but I have probably only had about 4-5 cycles since then.

I know haven't done myself any favours going on and off the pill, but I know my body better than the docs and last time i asked any doc about these strange cycles and symptoms etc....I got met with a 'I don't really know' and the same answer when I asked if it is because of the mc, and if they will get better....basically he didn't have a clue. That was 2yrs ago and I haven't bothered to go back to see anybody since.

    Hi redmel.

Sorry to hear of your losses. I like you have had 2 early mc's but I didn't go back on the pill after either of them. My periods are regular but each one is different to the last. For instance one month I can only have light spotting for 5 days and no pain, the next month can be very heavy and painful for 5-7 days. My last AF, last week, was the best AF I think I have ever had! I had no spotting at all and no pain at all even though it was quite heavy but it only lasted 4 days.

I have spoken to my consultant about it and he says not to worry as long as I am having an AF and not missing any. He said the only time its good not to have an AF is when I'm pg :D

Only thing I would probably do in your situation is get more than one opinion. Could you go back to your doctors and see someone else?

    Good luck

redmel - I agree with shelly that perhaps you should go back to the docs as 2 yrs is a long time! Give it a try for a few months to regulate AF. If that doesn't work, then try alternative medicine eg. naturopath? It would be difficult to TTC if you dont know when you ovulate unless you BD every 2-3 days.

    Thanks guys,

I will make an appointment to see a doc tomorrow preferably one who knows what they are talking about. I know I probably should have gone before now but just needed to be told:rolleyes:

I don't know what AF or BD exactly stand for, but I get the meaning:whistle:

Thanks, I will keep reading and will report back what the doc has said.

Thanks Static! always get a bit lost, so it's good to repost the list every now and then.

as i'm on the first cycle since comming off the pill (which i had been on for as long as i can remember) i have no idea what it going on  ... but i've had all manner of strange aches and pains which i keep trying to not let myself think are PG symptoms...however for the last few days my nipples have been really sore to touch and - as my OH puts it - i've been smuggling peanuts :o

Do any of you get this around AF (which based on a 28 day cycle is due next monday)? don't want to let my imagination get the better of me as i'll only be dissapointed when AF arrives otherwise.

    Thanks
  • Hi guys thanks for all your responses. Yes he did 2 hospital tests, this one came back worse!
My oh is such a "mans' man" iykwim, its hit him pretty hard.
Basically when he does these blood tests (which he keeps putting off!) we will know what the best course of action is, it may be a hormone deficiency which is relatively easily fixed, with a type of clomid but for men (very technical arent I!).
I know the good thing is that we can finally get things moving but (stamps feet) it doesnt seem fair, everyone around us seems to be popping out babies!

  • Hi, We've been trying to concieve for 4 years now:confused: had ALL the tests and both of us are totally normal and fertile!! I OV every month without fail and he is VERY generous on his sperm count!:j We are now on our 3rd cycle of IUI at the assisted conception unit and then its IVF next, seems so daft when we are both fine physically.

And YES we have tried EVERYTHING!!!!;)

Ovulation prediction kits are good, I used to use them all the time and they got me spot on and they agreed with the hopsital tests for ovulation so they could be really good for most people ( unless your me and timing ovulation isnt the problem!)
