    that sounds good advice static.
i'm on day 24 of 28 day cycle, and desperately holding off till Friday to test. Was convinced earlier that i was pg - now really not so sure. B**Bs have settled down and not had anymore cramps. Just a waiting game now ;)

Hope that everyone else is doing well - sprinkling baby dust for you all x

I do try & be good to take nan's advice too. Afterall, she had 7 kids! Trying to stay sane is not easy but deep down I know she's right - there's too many miscarriages these days compared to 30-40yrs ago. The food we consume these days have chemical help to make them grow quicker & doubt it's any good for our body + eggs + little swimmers. Not much we can do on that front unless we grow our own food!

I'm on the same schedule like Jiblets - should be fertile in next few days. Hopefully, get to BD a few times & then play the waiting game.

Does anyone else get ovulation pains? I thought I didn't anymore, as I used to feel a pinch when the egg was released. But on grumbling to a colleague today she suggested I might be feeling pre-ovulation pains. I woke up with a half-ache-half-pain very low on my right side, just in from the hip bone, and it's been quite hurting for the whole day. My colleague says she gets it each month, and thinks it's the egg ripening up for release. Any suggestions?

Keelykat, do you get the one sharp pain as it releases or the build up as they ripen?

Yeah I get them, not every month but most months and its not unusual to feel them one side one month and the other side the other month as your ovaries can (but not always) take turns releasing eggs. Apparently the pain is the ovary bursting open and releasing the egg.

Was funny when I first came off the pill, I went out with some girlfriends but was having a bad time with a pain low in my side. Hubby told me not to go if I wasn't well but I insisted. Anyway I just couldn't enjoy myself so I reluctantly called hubby to fetch me and he wasn't best pleased. The pain was still there monday so I went to see my doctor who said it was just ovulation pain :o I felt such a numpty but being on the pill for 15+ years I'd never experienced it before.

Found this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mittelschmerz Didn't realise it had another name other than "ovulation pain" :D

I noticed my ovulation pains lately too. Last month were weirdly from both sides of v low abdomen. Knife poking sorta feeling & I feel better when I lie down & just rub lightly in circulation motion for a few days. This month, it was only from left side though for only a few hrs, 1 day max.

Looked up google & found this

Actually, come to think about it again, perhaps testing the motility part is when you see how much sperm drops from the funnel to test tube ie wait 30mins using the colour dye....
But, I still don't see how it test motility compares to fertell which uses a button that you press to release chemical solution into sperm swim up chamber.

Right, I received the Fertilityscore kit, and the result it gives is a positive or negative for motile sperm count. There is no seperate tests for sperm count and motility, it is testing motile sperm count as a whole (ie combined test). On a website I read:

"The FertilityScore™ male fertility test will tell you whether the sperm concentration in the male fertility test sample is below 20 million/mL motile sperm (negative test) or above 20 million/mL motile sperm (positive test). The World Health Organization standard for a fertile male is above 20 million/mL motile sperm....You may have 60 million/ml sperm, but if the motility is 0% then the FertilityScore results will read negative. A key element to male fertility is the number of motile (live) sperm. FertilityScore's ability to differentiate motile from non-motile sperm is a unique feature of these kits."

So I can see why they test for motile sperm count as a whole, as knowing that he has a high enough sperm count AND some motile sperm seperately doesn't mean the motile sperm count altogether is high enough IYSWIM. Looking at the Fertell test, they both test in a similar way: they both have a fluid to add which mimics your CM, both are then heated, and the reaction of the motile sperm to the liquid results in a positive or negative result (one by checking the colour, the other by presenting a +/- result). Difference being that the Fetilityscore is more manual and Fertell does it all for you.

Anyway, after reading the instructions, OH is to abstain for at least 3 days and as I'm just coming off AF he'll not want to wait that long just yet. Getting him to wait 3 days might be the hardest part.!

Hi ladies hope you are all doing fab today. Can I just ask what other TTC forums you all use? Today I was browsing for some but the only ones I could see were forums such as Askbaby.com. Ermm I am not too convinced with them to say the least. I would like to think that I am easy going and not ageist at all but there are girls on there 17 18 years old ttc and other forum members actually giving them advice etc. One girl was around 18/19 and ttc her 3RD!!!! Is it just me or is it wrong to be helping a 17 year old girl get pregnant?
I know there is no "right" age to start a family, but 17??!!!?!?!?

I work right in the city center and it brakes my heart to see, everyday, young girls walking about in groups with their prams and pushchairs whilst young Mercedes or Armani are sitting in the pushchairs...drinking cans of juice and eating chips. They have no idea. Its just a vicious cycle.

I'm not casting all mums with the same net (before I get my head bitten off).

No doubt I will get slated for this post, oh well
