2. How do you convince your man to do things that may increase his fertility? I have been trying to get BF to take a multi vit etc but he just won't (can't be bothered) do it!!!
Hi Waddy and welcome!
I can't help you with the allergy pills, think a doctor would be best for that just to be 100% on the safe side.
As for getting BF to do things to increase his fertility.....I really wouldn't worry....either of you. Don't stress yourselves out over it before you have even began.(meant in the nicest possible way!)
That said, he will do something about it when he gets desperate enough. ie you don't fall pregnant straightaway so then he wonders if he should do something to increase the chance.
My hubby takes a multivit everyday. It takes seconds to do, if your bf can't be bothered to do that simple thing then I really hope you don't have any problems conceiving as the tests he could have to undergo involve alot more than popping a pill everyday
Good luck!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Thanks shelly. He is really of the opinion that there won't be anything wrong wth his seed! I just want to make it as easy as possible. We aren't stressing, just want to be prepared (i was a girl guide!).Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

Hi - It's definately positive now, I did another test this morning (my posh asda 2 for £4 one) and the line came up straight away fairly strongly. So pleased but nervous at the same time.
It's very strange, but when I found out I was pregnant last year, I had a gut instinct that I was going to miscarry, I was just waiting for it and I could not think of it as a future baby at all. This time, I know that risk is there obviously but I do not have that doomed feeling.
Thanks everyone for the advice - Congratulations to lovinit, it must be an amazing feeling after trying for 2.5 years!
If it helps anyone (I was always looking for tips) - this month we did the following thing differently:
We were not so focused on trying, I had decided to have a month off as it was really stressing me out and started thinking about other plans. We just did the deed when we were horny. Stopped monitoring my BBT (but I did find this handy over the previous months to work out if and when I wasovulating)
I was taking the Morrisons Omega 3 Vitamins and Minerals (changed now to a pregnancy one as it does not have vitamin A) and my husband was also taking a Multivitamin (after nagging him to death).
Around the middle of the month I was drinking Clipper Green tea with Ginko.
Had plenty of sleep, a bit strange for me as I am a bit of an insomniac.
Ate fairly healthily, had my 5 a day and walked a bit too.
Also bought a rose quartz bracelet, after reading somewhere that it may help (think I was clutching at straws there).

I can understand his feelings, when you first start out neither of you think there can be anything wrong with your baby making equipment
Also I forgot to mention you should take folic acid everyday. (if you aren't already but I imagine you are) I just take Tesco own brand, nothing fancy.

Sorry about your previous miscarriage, I didn't realise you had had one.
Congrats on the definate positive!! :T :j
I know what you mean about the being pleased but nervous at the same time.
Try to enjoy it, I know thats easier said than done. With my second pregnancy I wanted to enjoy it but a little voice inside my head kept telling me not to, it will all end in tears
Congrats again!!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Welcome Waddy!
On your allergy, have you tried taking honey? I have pretty bad sinus and have been drinking honey for more than 1 yr now & find my sinus is not as severe. I agree with Shelly a doctor's advice would be best.
DH is not very discipline with his pills & if he forgets I make him take them in the evening. Also feed him with lots of fresh veg, fish, meat etc.. He thinks his little guys are OK but I want to make sure & have bought Male Fertility Test just so we know (more me than him). Obviously, nothing beats going to the doc for a proper test but he's the type that won't see a doc even if he's sick unless he's been "forced" to.
I agree with Shelly that a man will do something about it when they are desperate enough. Saying that, I've been with DH for 12yrs & couldn't want any longer for the light bulb to hit him as it could be too late for me/us. Most of the time I do feel I'm "mothering" him but he is very laid back.
Oh, I also sometimes feed him with info from this thread (probs, emotions etc.. of TTC) & from other websites so he is aware & understands why he needs to take care of his health especially when TTC;)0 -
Congrats Osian & lovinit! Hopefully we all get to join you guys soon! :j
jiblets - hope you had a great party & get to chill last night. Try & relax & not put so much pressure on yourself on TTC. I feel, the subconscious worry could potentially make it harder for us to TTC as we are putting pressure on ourselves to get the result we want. A friend recently got pg, her 3rd child at 42 who I know have secretly wanted it for 5 yrs :T I don't think it was an "accident" but she took the relaxed approached. It it meant to happen, it will.
I know I've only just started TTC & what do I know hey? But, I know our turn will come.
AnnieM - Sorry AF is here but like you said, in a way it's good as you can try again next month! My AF is here too but I expected that. So I'm looking forward to next month.0 -
AF is here. I think I'm pleased. My party last night must have been the final relax I needed. I'm not sure whether to still go to the doctor's now. My hormones have cetainly knocked me off kilter this past month, is that worth checking out now I'm on, or do I wait another month to see if they are more regular this time?Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0
-
That must be a relief, Jiblets!
I'm going to see what happens this next month before I go to see the doc.
Onwards and upwards!

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'm just waiting for AF to b***er ff now! Then we will see how it goes. I (of course by accident) left a few pages up on the computer about male fertility last night, and he took his multi vit today, I'll see how long that lasts!Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.
