Well I went to the doctors earlier (my new surgery gets you appointments SO quickly!) to ask for advice about my recent late period and stressed freak out in work. She basically said I'd have to just ride it out, and hope that it's a one off but if anything like this starts happening regularly then it's completely an option to go on anti-depressants while ttc. I don't think that will be necessary though. She also suggested that maybe this is a sign that my hormones have really been kicked into action now, as I've only been off the pill since August, and it could be a good sign as far as fertility goes. I think she was just painting a silver lining on the fact that she couldn't really help me though...
But it is a comfort that if I start freaking out every month something can be done about it.Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -
Thanks for that Jiblets1. I've just gone cold turkey off my anti depressants in order to ttc as I read that the ones I was taking might me harmful so it's handy to know I might be able to take alternatives if needed.
On another note, can anyone recommend a book for me (such as ttc for dummies lol) just for basics such as what to do and what not to do? As much for the other half as for me. A good all-rounder would be great - vitamins you should take, exercise, tablets you shouldn't take... ta0 -

1)I just know that the girls on here are going to recommend Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler
Personally I didn't think it was all that
2)We are finding on this thread that lots of us are hearing/reading conflicting advice on most aspects of TTC from doctors, magazine articles etc etc which we then pass onto eachother. Its like the saying...."The internet is full of answers, some of them might even be true"
What works for one person might not work for someone else so that sparks a debate about whether it is actually right or not.
I think if you are worried and want general advice you should see your Doctor.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Sorry to wander into this thread unannounced but I just really needed to repond to this, I hope you don't mind. I really do recommend having a chat with your doctor about your ads as going cold turkey can have some fairly icky side effects so it's much better to wean off after chatting to your doctor. It's very much up to you though. And as you say there are various brands that they can prescribe in pregnancy so if you need them they are there. Sorry if that came out a bit preachy it really wasn't meant to be, I just don't want you to be feeling dreadful and not know there's things you can do!
Oh and if it helps at all in my experience I've found them to be great at looking after your mental health while pregnant. :-)Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!0 -
