I've picked the test up off my mate. I'm trying to decide whether to do the test now or wait for my strong pee in the morning. Recommendations please?
Definitely wait & do it in the morning. More accurate. The rest of the night might feel hours away, but try & relax anyhow. We'll keep our fingers' crossed for you!0 -
Most of us here are just TTC but I learned something interesting from MaybeBaby website - you could "determine" the sex of your baby! Here is an excerpt from the website:-
Statistics suggest that the timing of intercourse during your cycle may have some correlation with the gender of the baby.
Boys: Male sperm swim faster but die sooner. If you are trying for a boy, having sexual intercourse the day of ovulation may increase your chances.
Girls: Female sperm swim slower but live longer. If you are trying for a girl, having sexual intercourse 2-3 days before ovulation and abstaining afterwards may increase your chances.
By monitoring your monthly cycle you can be more confident of when ovulation occurs. By alerting you to when you are ovulating, MAYBE BABY™ can therefore increase your chances of influencing the gender of your baby.
Please remember that although MAYBE BABY™ may help influence the gender of a child by helping to identify ovulation, it in no way guarantees the gender of children conceived with its help.
I have no kids yet so it doesn't matter as long as I'm pg! Hopefully it works & help someone TTC for the other gender.0 -
Jiblets, if u do decide to do the test tonight make sure dont drink much fluids for 2 hours before hand. x
Static, there are other ways of influencing the sex of the baby. I remember seeing it on you tube. Can be influanced by your diet and also the sexual position u conceived.0 -
Are you having any symptoms? I'm not, I have tender breasts which I would have just before AF anyway.
Good luck xx
Hoping that blue line is still there, lwcus, and that all will go really well for you!
I'm feeling very tired all the time, and I seem to have gone off chocolate  and I've not got much of an appetite. I feel sick as soon as I start to get hungry though. Everything seems to smell very strong, and my breasts are starting to feel a bit tender this evening. That could be AF on her way though, I guess, or I'm willing myself to feel all these things...
I've never missed a period before, even when very stressed. They have been less regular since I came off depo provera, but an average of 27 days over the last 6 months. The longest month was Nov/Dec at 37 days, so I figure maybe I should test again at 38 (next Wednesday). Or maybe I'm just having another 37 day month
Jiblets, I really hope we can both join lwcus on the pg board really soon! I think we deserve some POSITIVE news!

STILL no sign of aunt flo, and I had a nice relaxing night with my OH, bro and parents last night, so I kind of expected it to be there this morning. Shall definately head for my BFs later. I officially didn't come on Thursday, Friday and Saturday now. Is that enough time to get hopes up? I'm too afraid.
No symptoms here either I think. I haven't got my big sore boobs that I would normally have before my period. I guess I've been hungry and tired, but now I think I'm just searching for symptoms.
I am so absolutely scared of hoping.
I totally know the feeling. Last month I was late by only 2-3 days but I convinced myself that I felt pregnant. AF arrived just as I was about to do a test and that was awful. I do try to wait a few days as I hate the thought of wasting a test if its just that AF is late. Even though my tests only cost £1 each I hate the thought of wasting them
Think I'm going to order some from accessdiagnostics next time though as the ones I saw were only 22p each.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi everyone
Hope you dont mind me joining. OH and I have been TTC now for 15 months. I turned 35 a few months ago and the doctors are being a bit doom and gloom because of my age - Im not that old!
We have been to the fertility clinic. OH has been tested - all fine. They want to do a procedure on me to look around inside (forgotten what its called) but wont do it until I have lost 2.5 stone. I am trying to lose weight but am feeling really fed up about it all - especially as it seems all my friends have had their babies and some have even cooled our friendship as Im not in the pudding club.
So Im feeling a bit left out and miserable and that makes me want to stuff my face so hence diet not going well.
We did try the fertility monitor and sticks for a while but stopped after 8 months as it was driving me nuts. We are now trying it again. Does anyone know where the cheapest place to get them is?

Hi there,
I hope you don't mind me joining in - have been lurking for a while
DH and I have been discussing ttc. I have been retraining and while the education part is out of the way, i have two years of on the job training to complete till fully qualified. The sensible thing re: ttc would be to wait till those 2 years are up, but DH and I aren't sure we can wait that long! it's so hard as sometimes these things happen immediately, other times it takes years (if i'm in this caterogry I'm all for starting asap!) - and you can't tell which category you'll be in!
We have decided that i should come off the pill and let my cycle settle down over the next few months then we are in a better position to ttc. I don't really know much about my own body at all and have been on the pill for about 8 years or so. I couldn't tell you about normal cycles or anything!
I've been looking online at information and think I have a bit of a handle on it now. Any tips on where to start? should i be checking if i actually ovulate?
thought about a persona monitor as it can be used for contraception or fertility purposes, but they are pricey. What are peoples experiences of this?
you all sound so knowledgeable its all a bit scary!!!0 -
Congrats Lwcus and AnnieM and everyone else, I hope you get the results you are hoping for!
I have been quietly hopeful this month, AF due today and although I have had slight p pain the last couple of weeks it has been nothing like it normally is. But I am suffering a bit today so looking like AF will make appearance later today or tomorrow
Starting ttc, I wouldnt bother with a persona meter, v expensive and you can get much cheaper ovulation kits elsewhere. I would let you cycle sort its self for a few months, then you will know how naturally how long your cycle is etc.Compulsive Spendaholic #150 -

Depends on your age really. If you were 30+ I'd say find out your cycle length, work out ovulation times and have sex on and around those days. Or just have sex every 2-3 days throughout the whole of the month. But if you are under 30 I'd say just do it! Don't stress yourself out with dates and times before you have even started.
Re Persona, I was going to get one of these but my fertility doctor said not to bother, just get normal ovulation sticks, they do the same job. I tried ovulation sticks once but they were negative the whole month but I know I ovulated as I had AF that month so I haven't used them since.
Also get yourself on folic acid every day. I just take Tesco own brand.
HTH & good luck:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
