Well I did it this morning and had my BFN. I suppose that's what I was expecting. It was a little difficult, because my OH looked so disappointed, then confessed that he'd "had a feeling" this month. Mainly I'm ok though. I had a really tough meeting after work today and nearly shouted at my senior - but managed to pull it back (just). Its difficult when people don't know why you're so arsey...Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0

Jiblets - i'm sending you an mse virtual cuddle :grouphug:
Hang in there! We all know how frustrating it is when you don't get the result you want. I'm already feeling that & have only just started TTC
No one knows we are TTC. But, some friends kinda guessed as I went mad baby shopping (mainly clothes) last Christmas saleI couldn't help myself as baby shopping was so theraputic for me :rotfl: My excuse to everyone that knows was I'm shopping for family & friends who were pregnant - which was kinda true.

Jiblets1 - sorry to hear about the BFN, is just such a sinking feeling.
I have been TTC since October and it is really frustrating as all our friends and family seemed to get pregnant first time!!!!!!!! Typical! We have just found out one of our friends is expecting, again on first attempt and I am happy for them but when I found out it was hard to hide my jealousy but then just felt really guilty for being selfish!:(
I have been doing the ovulation tests this time and for the first time ever saw what a positive test looks like!!!! Even if it is just for ovulation and not pregnancy! I was on a double line high yesterday so fingers crossed for this month. I had read somewhere on the net that doing bicycle legs after bd can help so that was my exercise last night! What a picture!
Good luck to all0 -
I bought some ovulating tests and they say this:
Count your cyle ie 28 days.
When you know how long your cycle is, count, from Day 1 of AF 9 days (this depends on how long your cycle is, for 30 days I think its 10 days), then test for 5 days. So this means that by day 14 you have finished testing? I thought you ovulated from day 14-16? Can anyone advise?Compulsive Spendaholic #150 -
Mine say start testing after AF finishes and stop when you start getting a negative result after positive result days. This makes more sense to me! Also, as my cycle doesn't seem to always be 28 days (AF came in Feb, before that was NOV!!), I have to keep testing to see when I ovulate, so stopping at day 14 or so would be pointless for some people, especially if you ov late int he cycle or your cycle is longer than normal some months.0

The ones i bought said that if you had a 28 day cycle to start testing on day 11, 29 day cycle to start testing on day 12 etc. If you are unsure of how long your cycle is then my advise would be to start on day 10 or 11 and go from there. Where did you buy the ovulation test kits from? They can be really expensive but they are much cheaper from a website called access diagnostics.
My cycle is a bit irregular but generally anywhere from 29 days to 35 days. I started testing on day 11 (i had bought a kit with 10 tests) and I had my positive this month on day 15.
Hope this helps.

Not to sure were from, they were from an ebay shop. really cheap only a couple of quid. I think they are for people who are as regular as clockwork, I think I'll try it from day 10/11 til I get a positive!
Thanks for everyones' views.Compulsive Spendaholic #150 -

Personally I feel we aren't giving medical advice, more like advice based on personal experience.
I think this thread is more about help, encouragement, support and just somewhere to come and rant when things aren't going well.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
I also feel that this isn't medical advice just the benefit of experience. Many TTC tips are just old wives tales but after a few months of negative results most people will try anything. TTC is such an emotional time and it really helps to know that others are going through the same as you.
I understand that this is Moneysavingexpert but the two things I am trying to do just now is start a family with my wonderful husband and sort out a fairly large but manageable debt. I have obtained a wealth of knowledge from this site and thought I had struck gold when I stumbled across this TTC thread and I started posting instead of just lurking.0
